I would like to begin growing marijuana but I don't have much of a green thumb so I wanted to begin by trying to grow a plant that might be similiar in terms of the process but cost less, any suggestions?

I was told that tomatoes were an option, is this true? is there a better one?

thanks for your help.

Grow Marijuana.....why try something else. You may be successful at it the first time around and the benefit would be great smoke instead of nice tomatoes!!!!

It's true, I would appreciate the bud more than well cared for tomatoes. I was planning on buying a plant off a friend but I guess I might as well just start with seeds. thanks guys

I've been growing for a couple of months now and used some regular bag seed and a higher grade seed as a test run till i graduate to higher grade plants. After researching the net I came across articles which said that bag weed is just grow conditions that have gone bad. Just use some regular seed for now, thats what i did. My plants are nice and bushy and already smell better than anything that I have found on the street where I currently reside.
Go to my forum "Test Grow", there are time lapse picture and a run down on my "test setup". The DWC setup that i have cost less than $100 except if you want to get a good HPS light which i ended up getting since i had the money. I used 65watt CFL's which are way cheaper on the electric bill and also purchase and seems as they are gaining more and more popularity in Hydro.
Like one of the posts before...the worst that can happen is that the plants die and you can figure out where you went wrong.

you'll also learn more about what you really want to know by growing what you really want to grow. You might not create the dankest hugest crop, but you wouldn't get any bud from tomato plants :)
