PPM Questions

I believe I had a MG Def from what I could tell so...

I added a Tablespoon of epsom salt to my res which has about 12-13 gallons in it currently. My PPMs were at 550 and shot up to 720+ from just a tablespoon which seems high for 2 week old plants.

So while looking at recommended PPMs/age charts I saw that Fox Farm recommends a PPM of 1120-1260 at 2 weeks old on their hydro schedule?!
Maybe I just diluted the nutes too much in my RO water and that caused the deficiency perhaps?
Everything I've read said to hang around 200-400 PPMs week 1 then gradually increase to about 1200-1400+(depending on plant response) by peak flower.

Hitting almost 800 in week 2 may burn/lockout my plants then right?

Should I just leave it then since I'm way below their recommendation or dilute it some or just flush out the whole res and start at square one?

Thanks!!!

Dude to tell you the truth i would just switch the res and go with gradually increasing the PPMs weekly or maybe even every other day. I use an aeroponics system with a 25 gal res. I only fill the res with 8 gals and start off my PPMs at around 350-400 at wee one. I usually veg my palnts for 1 month and by the end of my veg stage my PPMs are at around 750-800 PPMs. 1200 PPMs for such a young plant is way way too much. I also am using Humboldt County nutes and the directions on the back state to use, say 3ml/L. Well i converted that Liter to Gallon. So i would be using about a quarter of what was recommended. Its work excellent for me thru 3 harvest now. I hope your babies turn out fine. I know how stressfull it is bro! Let me know how it turns out!

I would also change out your res.those ppms are way to high for young plants,I dont go by what it says on the bottle anymore I read my plants, adding nutes till you get to the highest level your plants can hadle usually results in some nute burn,Im no hydro pro but I have learned that you dont need to run your nutes to the highest level,I keep mine at 1000ppm max and my plants grow just fine. good luck

i had similar issues with fox farms. I like them but the feeding chart provided by fox farms seemsa little too strong. It recomends 1100 - 1300 (roughly). i have found that keeping it around 1000 ppm prevents a lot of complications with burning the plants and causing nutrient lock. When i first switch to flower schedule my ph goes crazy for about 2 days. i have to check the plants every few hours. I started having lots of problems with mg deficiencies. seems to be a common ossurance with fox farm
