Ppm input vs. Run off reading.

I'm putting in 900 ppms as I'm still in early to mid flower. And my run off always reads half that number. Like between 500 and 400. Is this normal? or do I keep feeding until my input matches my run off? First grow that I've gotten this far into flower without fuckin' them up completely, an I don't wanna take the chance in burning them. Is the run off supposed to be about half, does that mean the soil held the majority of the nutes? Is it the new water and nutes pushing out the old water and nutes? Because my ph run off is also always lower than what my ph probe reads. Should my run off ph AND my run off nutes match what I'm putting in, or should the ppm always be half, and the ph always slightly lower (I ph at 6.25 but my run off always bottoms to 5.89/79).
Any knowledge is much apriciated

Why are you testing runoff? Runoff Ph is extremely inaccurate. A slurry test is the correct way to test the Ph.

You do what you can with what you got sometimes. I have a soil probe ph meter. A digital water ph meter. And ph water strips. I have seen and thought about looking into the slurries. Only issue in my opinion is I STRICKLY like 6.25 exact ph. No more, no less. it's a little more difficult to tell if it's 6.25 or 6.5 when I'm matching colors.
