PPM in tap water

My babies are 2 weeks old now and I want to add about 250ppm to them as a light feeding. My question is, does that 250ppm include the ppm already in the tap water? Or do I add 250 ppm on top of what's already in the tap water?

For example, if my tap water is around 120ppm by itself would I add 250ppm of nutes on top of that? (Ppm would be 370ppm at that point but obviously only 250 of it is nutes).

Im by no means a expert but i assume youre doing soil grown. Id just make sure your ppm is 250 and check your runoff water too! Make sure youre 2nd ppm is what you want it to be at.

Oh then yeah dont add 250of nutes! The final ppm of your dwc water should be between 100-250.
I was told less is more when it comes to nutes sometimes.
Maybe add a little bit of calmag. Amd make sure your ppm is around 200? Dont want nute burn

ppm is not the best way to talk about nutrient consecration with people around the world because they might use a different calibration then what you are using

Water will not feed your plants, if you want to feed 250ppm of fertilizer add that on top of your water value.

Your fertilizer will supplement the water enough with cal mag to grow well enough with normally and all the other required elements.

A water report is a great idea before all else.

Right for sure but for this particular question it wouldn't matter. The tap water ppm is either included in the 250 I'm trying to get to or it's not included.

I suppose the correct answer to the original post would be that they are additive.
The ppm's add together. Whatever is in the water is also added to the nutes your supplementing.
It might be helpful to know what 'whatever' is...

A medical patient in New Mexico had me set up his grow and teach him what to do. I built an indoor in an unused large bathroom. And built a grow area outside where it was totally hidden from view. Asked him to get a water analysis from the water company. A little privately owned water system. I sowed seed and started. Seedlings looked like they had tuberculosis.

Dug my EC meter out. Ran his water for a minute and then took a sample. EC was 1.6. Tried other taps and same results. Started hauling water from a kiosk. Water report showed 125-140 ppm in clear numbers and calcium was the main offender. Know your water!!!!!

Never got the analysis from his water company
