PPM and pH meter storage?

Even though I have been growing for some time I just recently invested in a PPM meter as well as a pH meter (Two separate meters). Do either of these need to be stored in a way that the electrodes don't dry out or anything like that? Or is it ok to just gently shake them off and put the caps back on them?

Thank you!

i personally would store them in distilled water or the brands storage solution. Or you can put some water in the tiny caps and store them that way.

My hanna meter's instruction state to store the pH meter in storage solution while the ppm meter is to be cleaned and dry before storage.

Thats what mine says and I was only getting one grow with the probes and then I went out and bought the Hanna Storage solution and now my probe is lasting a lot longer.

I've had mine for years and they still read spot on when put in fluids of a known PH. I just run it under the cold tap, don't shake or let dry off and put lid on. Hasn't failed me yet.

DON'T STORE THE PH PROBE/ELECTRODE IN DISTILLED WATER

This is adviced in all the electode's manuals, this causes the electrode's reference potential to change. The proper way to store it is in KCl 3M solution (that's what Hanna or whatever manufacturer sells you as storage solution).

i leave my hanna ppm meter in water since i use it every day...ph meter has to stay in ph solution if you store your ppm meter its advised to store it with a wet cotton ball in the cap however i noticed any time i dont use it weekly it gets out of calibration quick so just a word to the wise
