-The only work on things thats has motors
-Some say they only work as surge protectors

I dont know what to beleive lol. Has anyone done some sort of test to see if they actually work?

Unless your talking about some kind of quantum unit I highly doubt there is something out there that can save energy that wouldn't be built into everything we own. Why wouldn't we know about it if it works?

Ah your talking about Power factor correction, yeah it's only for industry and it only works on large motors. Also it literally only saves you a few pennies a year. Which is why it's only useful if your running thousands of electric motors. So sadly no use for our fans either.

And if you are indeed talking about what WeedChip thinks then...... Hes right it has no place in the things that we do. Power factor correction only come into play when you are talking about massive motors and in general very specialized equipment

Edit : After re-reading the original post I do believe WeedChip is correct. If you want to open up the rabbit hole on this issue start to look into why on earth does are 120v A/C fans need a capacitor that is rated at like 300v-440v A/C. It WILL BLOW YOUR MIND haha.

On a side not I have a good friend that is a electrical engineer "his forte is large industrial motors ranging from 500-2000hp" he has tried to explain these things to me a few times and it is just mind fucking bogelling on how someone figured this shit out in the first place.

Thanks for replying. Have you tried it your self or just read about it?

Edit: Wish you had replied earlier. Ive already bought one. Might aswell test it out now. If your correct I will just return it.

The powersavers I know of... are wall plug ins that you can walk up and manually turn them off ,put them on timers or put them on auto. Little LEDS in small appliances can really add up in powercost over a year, so these little buggers turn them off when ur not using them

This is hilarious. Gimmicks I tell ya gimmicks. I particularly like the fact that we still havent seen what product the original poster is referring to. The ukpowersavers this is hilarious on the "how it works" page. Reads something like "Products dont use the power delivered to a house efficiently. So in this itty bitty box we fix that! bam!' haha
