What is the best way to hook up multiple computer fans to a power supply

I live in Europe so there is 220v coming out of my wall.

Im in the US but a lot of people here use cell phone power converters. Just about any one will work. To get the best performance out of your fans then match the voltage and milliamps. google it.

i have the same prob!! computer fans usually work with 12v and all cell chargers work at 5v so i went an bought a transformer from 220v to 12v but there were three wires comming out of the fan an two holes in the transformer i tried all combination's but none worked i will go to a computer store on monday and buy a transformer for a pc an i think this will make them work!! if you have multiple fans theres no problem if you have a transformer that gives a higher amp outlet than the combination of all amp usage used by your fans. you simply connect them all to the same wire that comes out from the transformer by connecting all positive cables with positive outlet from transformer and all negative with negative at the sme wiring point!! just need to find a transormer

The third wire coming from the (PC) fan is the sensor wire, It's not needed just use the negative/positive wires.

Red = positive
Black = negative
Yellow = Sensor

Well they could be different colors or whatever but i know for sure that the 3rd is sensor.:peace:

If you are just running a few fans, then a 12v DC adapter is the way to go. Just be sure that the milliamp rating on the adapter is higher than the rating of all the fans combined, and ensure that you conect them in parallel (ie:- all red wires connected together, and all black wires connected together).

If you want to run more that just a few fans, then i would recommend using the item they were meant for, which is a PC power supply. Most modern P PSUs will only work if there is a motherboard connected, so you will have to short or jump a couple of wires on the motherboard connector. Full details of how to do this are here.
