Powdery Mildew spots showing on fan leaves

Please tell me how to get spores out of flowers? My understanding is once they are present they spread throughout the whole plant. You can remove it from the leaves, but small amounts will remain in the bud.

I have plenty of respect for you bugeye, your setup is amazing, and I'll bet you could probably manage this problem. I am not willing to take chances with PM.....it's like ebola
As I said above you treat it very aggressively so it never gets out of hand. Green Cure, H2O2 sprays, Actinovate, Serenade, plus many other options. If you suspect you have some PM on your buds, at time of harvest you prepare an H2O2 bath that every bud gets soaked in for several minutes so it truly saturated. There is a Jorge Cervantes YouTube video showing the process. You then have to do a rinse with a pretty strong blast of water to get all remaining residue off the buds. Most people can then dry, cure and smoke the buds. For those with sensitivity, it would be smarter to do a gentle ice water extraction of the trichomes and make hash. The cured hash can then be sent to a lab for testing to ensure it is mold spore free.

Most of us are breathing in mold spores every time we go for a walk in the woods so it is a difficult comparison to Ebola.

So for me, it was not that much PM, it was just a few spots here and there. I sprayed it with diluted water and hydrogen peroxide and so far it has not popped back up. Bringing in my purple alien at night because I believe it is coming from the fluctuations in temperature as we have had some scorcher days and cold nights. The other girls I have are good out there all day and night. Guess the Purple Alien is just susceptible.

Do you spray anything on the leaves or get them really wet when watering? Where did it start? The bottom or the middle or top? If its the bottom its from wild watering and if youve been spraying them with water for some odd reason that could be it too. Pluck the leaves and baking soda them. That works really well. Good luck.
So Ninjablower, to answer your question, yes, I week or 2 ago I lightly sprayed some BT on all of my plants cuz I found a crawler. I shook off the plants of any excess drippage and brought em in to let the light dry em totally off. I figured if it was from that all the other girls would have the PM also.. Who knows, it's my first time around so it's been a good learning experience, one so much that when I by my house, I am goin indoor for sure. ELIMINATES SO MANY PROBLEMS!

I would recommend keeping your environment controlled so it doesn't have to be managed at all. With your approach I guess you can tell your buds are ready when the mold is real thick.........enjoy!

How do you mix/use the baking soda method?

I have a friend who is deathly allergic to molds as well. My plants have PM, but they are treated regularly with H2O2, and then given the bath as described in the afore mentioned Jeorge Cervantes video. My friend is fine. No, I don't tell him theres PM, he'd freak out and stop smoking it.

Yup, you outed me. Might as well come clean and show some pics of my PM encrusted buds taken last Friday. Viewer discretion advised.

If you have been smoking weed for years as most of us have......

you have probably smoked a little PM, that along with spidermites and never even known it...SERIOUSLY

Unless you have a tester to test for pesticides, fungicides and spidermites.... you will never know 100% what your weed contains...

Only if you grow your own weed, then you know what's in it

I bought a portable Tester for $399 ...tests marijuana, fruits & veggies, water even AIR quality...for pesticides fungicides sends the THC content of your marijuana and all other info to a website for you to look at.

Very true, that's why I grow my own. I wouldn't smoke it with PM if it ever got to the buds, maybe make oil or hash out of it. Best option is preventative sprays during veg if it's in your area, seems to be working just fine.

My neighbour has 2 plants outdoor covered in PM, I can guarantee you I won't be smoking any of that shit! (anything he ever has is crap street weed) I pointed it out early on, gave him the spray recipe, but he was too lazy to spray them, now he's wondering what to do with them. @#$!

@colonuggs you have a link to that tester you're referring to? Sounds awesome for that price range.

Here is a microscopic picture of powdery mildew. Notice how difficult it would be to remove its mouth.....or hastorium as it is shown. This diagram isn't entirely accurate as the hastorium pierces through the leaves and clinches itself in.

Don't wait until you get sick to change. I wish I could smoke everything I want to, but after 35 years smoking shit my lungs are cooked. Ask SubCool about smoked lungs.......
