Powdery mildew and the wind

Anyone have a clue how far mildew can travel in the wind? We have some squash with mildew about 100 yards from our plants .

Spores are ubiquitous. They are present in the air at all times. They don't rely on the wind, pollen does. Squash is notorious for PM. Treat the squash for it first. At this time of year, I just pull them up and get rid of, or compost them, because they're done. As soon as the melons have ripened, I'll pull them up too, they're done.

You can't avoid PM spores. If your plants are healthy and not over crowded you should be ok. I never plant squash though because it always gets PM.
