Powder Vs liquid nutes

back in 2000 i spent almost 3 years doing side by side tests of nutrients,, then additives.. dyna grow foliage pro worked well,, but so did most of the nutrients,,all grew plants,, alot of time finding a mix on the 3 parts that would work on different strains equally..but my goal was finding a nute that not only grew good weed, but was cost effective.. anyways it came down to gh maxi and flora series,, both worked well with my tap water(water plays a role as some nutrients react different with different tap waters..i found advanced 3 part took alot of ph balancing w my water even then i found it was missing somthing the plants wanted..botanicare works well to,,all the 3 pat nutes gh, plant life, adv, botanicare, cant remember them all but all worked but wer NOT COST EFFECTIVE,,and filling 2 50 gallon rez is alot of tsp per gallon...
gh maxi is cheap, it grows good weed, and has a better yield to cost than any of the liquids i tried..
since then ive heard good things about canna, and a few others i did not try..
ill get the jacks in a few days,, ill start it in veg then flower on a future run...

as for additives, bloom boosters,,,almost all are a waste of money,, none actually increased yields..but i did find that silica works well as a ph up,, and seems to improve overall plant health.. 1 quart has lasted me going on 4 years now..

cal mag,, it depends on ur water,,if u use ro water cal mag is a must,,but i use tap and in 3 different houses all with different ppm's and city water supplies maxi seems to not need it added just different ph's in each water..

I use Maxibloom for the whole grow.. Don't really need Maxigrow.... Koolbloom 3 weeks into flower.
Very simple two part nutrient program... Keep ph under 6... ppm under 1200 ...works for me...

Also interested in this thread. I have purchased both the maxi series as well as dynagro FP. I have had decent results with maxi. but I am a novice. I'm scared to try dynagro after a few bad runs due to root problems.

FP works great. The thing would be to have some Big Bud around for mid to late bloom...yeah, yeah - The AN thing... But that 0-1-3 is a great addition to FP in bloom....

no yellowing in veg or early bloom? i use gro in veg and mix for the first 2-3 weeks of 12/12.. if i go with straight bloom at flower i see yellowing by the 2nd week.. never tried the maxi bloom in veg,, the gro works great nice green colors... maybe its my water??

If they start showing any deficiency I give em 1/2 strength liquid Koolbloom... I still have grow left but choose not to use it.. Maxibloom alone is very close to the Lucas Formula..

It's not just you. Most people who use grow with bloom use grow a few weeks into flower to avoid yellowing. I have no clue how people are getting away with bloom only. But I have heard other growers say that they CAN use bloom the whole way through but yield was affected negatively by skipping the grow. So I have read anyhow. No experience in that department.

I only use MaxiBloom from start to finish and never have a discolored leaf. 7 grams to a gallon of tap water - KISS method.

Bingo!
Lucas Formula using General Hydroponics Dry Nutrients (Maxibloom)
MaxiBloom and MaxiGro are dry nutrient also from General Hydroponics. It turns out, Maxibloom, used in a ratio of 7 grams per gallon of water*, is very close to the original Lucas Formula (above.) You do not need MaxiGro, and so this is the cheapest and easiest recipe to use.

Add 7 grams of Maxibloom into 1 gallon of water*, and then adjust the pH, and stir vigorously to dissolve the Maxibloom in the water. I advise putting the 7g of Maxibloom into a cup of warm water, dissolving it, and then adding it to the remaining gallon of water, before pH adjusting and mixing again.

just wait until you get the new and improved version of Maxi-Bloom...they changed the formula, and not for the better
I have heard rumors. But the only evidence anyone has shown is a different color. How can we be certain its changed?

I'm using 7 parts of the nectar of the gods nutrient line it's liquid based like every line I've used in the past besides bat guano and this happens to be the best line period without question hands down the growth rate holy sh** I'm 47 days in from seed I'll attach a picture fan leaves twice the size of my hand I'm growing purple jack 20170414_134431.jpg

Don't know why that's funny. Not everyone here is growing for profit. If it works for him, he gets good results, and likes the quality why does it matter if he spends more to do it? If it NTFG keeps his plants healthier so he has to do less work, isn't that also a benefit?
