Poured QWISO into 5 gram jars when still liquid state, is this Ok?

Hello,

When making my QWISO, when got down to a very thick state, just before the ISO was gone and it could still pour, I poured them into 5 gram oil jars and intended to let the last bit of ISO evaporate from that.
I did this because scrapping oil with razor blade from bottom of pot and trying to store is such a pain.

has anyone done this before? Will all the ISO evaporate even though it is in tall thin jars with a tiny surface area at top?
I guess my fear is the top with harden and trap oil mixed with ISO on bottom

The key to properly getting the ISO and the remaining water removed is evaping in a thin layer. I personally wouldn't do it in "tall thin' jars, and I've made lots of qwiso. You might be able to put the jars into a warm water bath and get them to finish evaping, but it still seems like it would be tough to get it finished.

I evap all my qwiso in a large flat pyrex dish(12x16 maybe). I usually only evap 1 quart of alcohol at a time to keep the layer thin enough. I put a breathable filter on top, like a clean furnace filter, and then position the dish so that air can blow over it. I usually set it up on my dehumidifier so the dry air from that would blow over the surface, but I've used fans before as well. The moving air greatly helps evap the alcohol and water by constantly breaking the surface tension. Usually it only took 20-24 hours to completely evap. I am left with a thin clean layer of oil on mostly just the bottom of the dish. I use needle nose vice grips to hold a razor blade and the oil scrapes off the dish pretty easily as a golden crystal if the oil is good quality and clean. I put it into a parchment paper and fold it onto itself so the oil forms together into a nice little slab. Hope that helps. There is a tutorial in my sig line that shows how I do the whole qwiso process.

I do that. Use 4 or 8oz canning jars. I cover the top with coffee filter paper and use the 'ring' to secure it down. then evaporate out all the alcohol. From there, I can weigh it to see how much is there for recipes. To use it I put a teaspoon of alcohol back in and let it dissolve back into it and pour it into whatever recipe I'm doing.

I could see that if you are cooking with it.

I’ve got nothing against using ISO I’ve done both and based on the science of the chemicals I have no concerns from making qwiso. I can’t justify evading off drinkable alcohol with how much it costs.
