PotPimp's Auto Mini Thunderfuck seed run

I know they're not much yet but they are the promise of good things to come. These are autoflowering mini-thunderfuck from Dutchbreed.com They sent me 13 seeds (and 12 of Lowberry) and so far I have these and two more that have tap roots but haven't emerged yet. They crossed "the only known male Matanuska Thunderfuck with their best female Lowryder to get these seeds. For those of you that have never smoked MTF... OMG, what can I say? It's out of this fricking world. I was quite surprised to discover that the original MTF is alive and well in the land of the midnight sun, thanks to quite a few indoor growers. The only downside would be that it's strictly clones because the cops did get all the males (with the exception of the one that Dutchbreed had - or maybe they had seeds and one came up male. Whatever, I bought some this past March in Seward, Alaska.

I was going to do hydro on these but the top on my Stinkbud veg unit began pouring water. I forgot that Stink told us to "make sure they are Rubbermaid brand or they will leak". Details, details! I started them in Rapid Rooter plugs and the larger ones have had little white hair roots peeking through the bottom for the last week and I really needed to get them in something. So I decided to just put them in some Fox Farms Happy Frog kicked up with some cottonseed meal, blood meal, bone meal, dolomitic lime, and agricultural lime. We'll see how that goes. My only concern is that they might be overnuted; if so I will yank em and wash them off at the first sign of nute burn.

I put them outside during the day and take them in at night and put them under a 50w blue LED til I get up the next morning. I'm of the opinion that plants do not get "tired" so I've got them on essentially a 24 hr "on" light cycle.

This is going to be a seed run since the seeds are pretty pricey. I'll happily sacrifice any smoke due to the seeds. This spring I will be planting about 50 plants a week in different spots. That will give me a perpetual harvest and I should have enough seeds to last for about 2-3 years from this one seed run. :peace:

Thanks guys. I am absolutely amazed at what a difference 24 hours had made. They have grown significantly. Finally we have some clear skies and lots of sunshine; I can't wait to get home and see how they are doing. I pulled one plug and there was nothing there; I guess the seed evaporated or something. I'll post some more baby pix Monday morning.

dude, autos have a short life and they grow pretty slow but its like they start growing faster and faster til they bud. my diesel ryders are getting really fat and i cant believe only 3 weeks ago it was starting to flower. im guessing, chop day is supposed to be on october 18th for 9 weeks and a couple days but they just keep getting fatter and fatter and smelling skunky as hell. i f'in love it man. i am so interested in more than half of dutchbreeds autos but i am always checking their site and they are always sold out. i really want to try the short term amnesia. seems so kick ass.

I hear ya man; I bought some of their Orange Candy Floss seeds too but they aren't autos. I'm really looking forward to growing them cause they advertise like 23% THC and an awesome smell and taste.

The babies are looking great; one of them has like 5 freaking nodes already and it's less than 2" tall. This has to be the next great step in stealth. The cops fly their helicopters around in late fall looking for grows but with the autos you can be done with a crop in June!

I'll post more pix Monday morning.

Here are the baby pix as of this morning. Not a lot to see but they are beautiful to me. I see half a pound of grade A pot and hundreds or thousands of seeds to plant next year.

I didn't have my camera this morning but suffice it to say that the babies are looking like hell. I think maybe the soil was too rich or something - but it looks like they have N deficiency; they leaves are turning yellow, especially in the center and working it's way down to the larger leaves. I don't know for sure what's going on but I got my hydro unit plugged back in and mixed up some nutes to 501 ppm, and a pH of 4.6. Then I pulled the plants out of the containers, gently broke off the surrounding very soft, loose soil and washed them off with clear rain water and put them in the hydro unit. One of them, actually two of them, are still very healthy looking; the largest one has fat green leaves, very much of an indica pheno. We'll see. I'll take my camera with me today and post some pix of them tomorrow.

OK, had some problems with them later in the week. I'm suspecting that the kicked up soil was too much for them, since these are nute sensitive. They stated turning yellow from the top down and then the tips of the leaves started turning brown so I took them out of the soil, rinsed them off, squeezed out the rapid rooter plug and put them in my hydro unit. It's been nearly two days and they are looking so much better; I think they are going to be fine. The largest one is a little less than 2" tall and it's already showing it's sex!!! It's a boy! I guess, since this one is the hardiest, I will collect the pollen from this one to impregnate the girls with. I had two seeds that didn't pop so I just kept them in the water and checked on them every couple of days and lo and behold, one of them popped. It had been in the friggin water for nearly two weeks!!! As soon as it popped I put it in the soil mix. Yesterday I found it popped up through the soil and two little leaves on it. So I took it out of the soil and put it in a rapid rooter plug and stuck it in the hydro. Three weeks so far. I'm still shaking my head about seeing sex in only 3 weeks; that's just crazy. BTW, I had to use a magnifying glass to see the pollen buds; they are super tiny.

lol, thats what i love about autos, they allow u to throw out males real early so u dont have to waste space for a 6 week veg and then find out you have 3 males like what happened to me with bagseed. :(.

Here are some pix from this morning and a few up close ones from yesterday. They appear to be recovering fine. My project for today is to get my grow cabinet built to house them during the night time. I am putting wheels on the bottom of the bottom rez to make it easier to cart them back and forth. One of them, the really indica looking one, is amazingly healthy looking; my suspicion is that this pheno is a lot less nute sensitive than the others since they were all in the same environment to begin with. It has also overtaken the others which seem to be really stunted but that may be from the kicked up soil.

I've been concerned about them not getting enough light and since my LED's are all blue, which are awesome for vegging, I thought it best to put them into the grow cabinet under the 400w HPS. So that was my project yesterday. One of them may have gotten toasted; I had the light about 2' from the plants but the smallest one sort of... keeled over. But you know how resilient these plants are and I'm hoping for the best. Not much to see for now; I'll post more pix later in the week. My only concern is that these plants are going on a month old - half their life - and even if they were covered in buds they wouldn't make much more than a decent blunt each. I'm sure hoping they start growing.

Well I know it's not *real* exciting to see a bunch of baby plants growing at the speed of paint drying. But, in my lame attempt to bore you to tears, here is yet another set of the latest baby pix, a whole two days older than the ones previous. Night before last I got the HID light set up and they darn near fried my plants; the seedling did indeed get fried. But I had an extra one anyway so I tossed the seedling and put the extra in it's place in the rez. I'm amazed at the one really fine looking plant; it is absolutely perfect and growing like crazy - for an autoflower. I don't know what happened to the others; ever since they started turning the yellow color they seem to have completely stopped growing and don't seem to be really recovering. Oh well, such is growing pot; chalk another grow up to experience. (note to self: don't ever order this strain again). The HID lighting only lasted through the night. I pulled the plug on it when I found my plants withering. Yeah I know I could have raised it to 3' but it would still have been over 100 degrees in the cabinet. So I rigged up my T5 lights; I have 4 of the small (non-HO) bulbs in 4' fixtures. They seem to be responding very positively to the less intense, cooler lights. I doubt it's getting over 80 degrees in the cabinet now. I will be installing a 6" in-line fan today to make it even cooler.

LOL, it didn't appear anyone was interested so I haven't been taking any more pix but I'll take some tonight and post them tomorrow. The plants definitely suffered some type of poisoning; the leaves that I did not cut off still show where it turned them. I have thrown out two of them. I thought one of those would make it but it just never did. I have one girl that looks amazing; she does not seem to be the least bit affected by the poisoning and I have one other girl that is tiny. I have two boys and one unknown but I'll inspect it closely tonight. Thanks for the interest!

no problem man. i was really thinkin about ordering short term amnesia, but i would have no room for them cause i already have 2 lr2's, 3 ak47's and one red dwarf. and then i have 5 fem diesel ryder seeds, and 5 easy ryder fem seeds germinating and still have another pack of 5 feminized ak47 auto seeds. might be quite a while til i order seeds too cause im making seeds with one of the 3 ak47 females. i had 2 males and one was small but the other one was almost two times the size of any other plant so im not gonna pass the chance up to breed that stud.
