potential yield for 12x12 w/ LED'S?

I'm not doing anything immediately... Ill probably start small, and try different lights. I may just start in the 6x4 closet... I may stay in there. Like I said, I'm not so much looking for final weight. I'm looking at cost vs efficiency. Also security/safety... I think they are 9ft ceilings. I was thinking of running shelfs to cut the walls in half. Then hydro setup on both top and bottom shelfs. that would give me 4.5 ft clearance for the light and plant. If I use LEDs and flower from clone, I should be good with a short stout strain. Then maybe a few organic trees under hps in the center of the room. I think the lights would supplement each setup... just an idea

I just can't see that... I'm not a first time grower, no expert either. I've never grown indoors, but I can't imagine producing around a pound with that space. What setup do yall use? Cuz I don't want to use that one...

making a lb is easy u can do it a 4x4x6 area with a 600w and dwc
guy the whole point is to make the most gooey buds and as much as u can......this is the end all proof u are a good grower

so that is all the info we will give u it is up to u to dim it down for your grows or fallow them and just drool and cuss why u clip down jar up
mahahahahaha just like it happen to us cursing your skills but loving them at the same time (u will really think about hiring friends to trim down and jar up at some point )

Word? Im worried about heat and ventilation and all that shit, since ill be in a rental... I heard the LED's now are pretty legit. Is that propaganda?
You'll be fine for light. I'm in a 8x8 room with a 600w batwing reflector with a fan blowing. Temp stays between 25-29 degrees Celsius when on and drops to 22.5 when off. Definitely a cheaper investment with great outcomes. I started 10 autos under a T5 light and as soon as they went under the HPS they went insane. 4-5 inches a day. They're all 26inches and doing absolutely amazing at day 28. Started showing sex last week.

definitely pass on the LEDs.

You can get an aircooled reflector, some ducting, a fan, and a carbon filter and you'll be fine if your concerned about heat

Without reading through the whole thread I'm just going to say that you can pull a g/w with off the shelf LEDs under optimal conditions with a stellar cut and perfect conditions(temp, CO2, etc.)

What I will say is that in a 12x12 if you're running a shitload of LEDs you're looking at 24-36k+ btu for a minisplit. Why? They still give out heat and you can't even duct the things unless you put in a false ceiling and set them in real careful like.

Edit: OK I've read the rest of the thread, or skimmed it rather.

With the cheap LEDS at 3watt and 3' my bottom leaves start dieing off from lack of light. If you go LED keep sog or scrog.

If you go HPS...well...make it a fucking jungle bro, like you reek for a week after walking through your crop. in a 12x12 you could probably go 36k btu minisplit with 6kish in lights bare bulb.

Why wouldn't you want to do this? VEG TIME. Are you going biggie or are you going smalls?

I yielded 5.5 oz off of 150 actual draw led watts, In a 2x4x5 tent, with 4 plants and 3 week veg, each in 5 gals of soil, no nutes, all topped or fimmed, was really impressed, I think running a good amount of 300w or better leds would gelive you a killer yield as long as you keep them close

The problem I've had with LED's is heat. Last time I used them I vegged for a week and ended up with 3' plants where the tops were all stressed from keeping the LEDs close enough to provide some of the lower area with some light so I only got like 0.4GPW. Highest I've gotten is 0.7GPW. This is all with 3 watt Marshydro panels. The only thing I haven't tried is flipping immediately in SOG with 2-3" clones 4 per square foot.

HPS may have the inverse square law where light = 1/d^2 but LEDs are like 1/d^4 no joke. Plus you have beam angle to contend with. COBS sure look cool but they're too expensive to be cost effective right now.

You can get 1.5+ gpw if you build your own LED system I believe MAU has a video on youtube with yield reports... I believe he pulled 1.7 gpw on 736 watts on what looks like a 4x8 space... If you have it dialed(your lights and spacing) you can get the elusive 2 gpw...

I look at it like this... You spend 2500-3300 and you can pull 1.5+ gpw on 828 watts for example then it isn't really that much money when you think about it...

I cringe to think the old days where getting 1 gpw or 1.2 gpw on old se hps was special ;) ( This is excluding the veg for 3 months approach)

His channel rocks...
