Potasium deficiency??

well no bat guano they didnt carry it. I did get some general hydroponics bloom formula but im kinda reluctant to add syntetic nutrients to my organic grow. I also picked up some potasium supliment pills at my local "natural food" store which is 100% potasium, not sure if it would be available immidiatly or not but i think im going to try and disssolve one or 2 of these bad boys and chuck it in with my regular feeding which is scheduled for tomorow, might get a day early though.

Buy potash. It's a mineral. Doesn't get much more natural.

thats what i thought i did with the potasium suppliment pills from the health food store, am i wrong?

That I would not know. But many garden supplies have elemental potash. The plus on most vitamins is they are chellated. Meaning they have an amino acid component so the potash can be picked up.

im going to do a foliar spray on a small portion of the plant ans see what she looks like tomorow

they are 500mg potasium supliment talets and yes there are amino acids in the supliment.

im just trying to get as much feedback as i can, i really want to stay away from the syntetic nutes on this plant as its been all organic and week 5 going on 6 of flower.

iim going to do a side by side though with 2 clones of thesame motherand use the general hydroponics vs the general organics (same company) should be interesting to see the difference in synthetic vs organic.

In what way and in what form does potassium react with water?
Potassium reacts rapidly and intensely with water, forming a colourless basic potassium hydroxide solution and hydrogen gas, according to the following reaction mechanism:
2K (s) + 2H[SUB]2[/SUB]O (l) -> 2KOH (aq) + H[SUB]2[/SUB] (g)

This is an exothermal reaction and potassium is heated to such an extend that it burns a purple flame. Additionally, hydrogen released during the reaction strongly reacts with oxygen and ignites. Potassium reacts with water more slowly than does rubidium, which is placed under potassium in the periodic chart. It reacts with water more rapidly than does sodium, which is placed higher in the periodic chart.

You said you use cal mag every week. Do you have well water? I use the GO line and have well water and never use cal mag. I think there's plenty of minerals already in well water.

yes i use wel water, think i should cut out the cal mag? i will skip it this next feeding just trying to be like a noob and go by the chart.

do you think its a cal/mag toxicity?

BTW im not stupid and im not trying to sound like a complete noob im just looking for every possible angle on my situation because i dont want to rush the first treatment and have it not be what the issue really is. hope that makes sense, i sprayed a small foilar spray with the crushed potasium pills onto about 2 nodes of the plant, going to see what it loooks like tomorw then decide wether i feel its safe to feed my baby the mixture :)

thanks everyone for all the feedback!!

If your medium has some goodies in it along with lime it's a pretty stable enviroment. I used cal mag 4 or 5 grows back and ran into the same thing you have going on. Or at least similar. Anyway, since cutting out all cal mag no problems. I always add some epsom salts in my medium along with lime before letting it cook for a month. I think it takes care of the need for cal mag along with good well water. Works for me anyway. Good luck.

ok sweet imma cut down on the cal mag as well, i thought it was a bit unecesary but just wanted to follow the feeding program like a good drone to see the results...

im about to introduce some 1 year old worm castings i have been farming with my vermi bin anyways and eggshells have been a frequent feeder in the bin. i wish i could have ammended with this sooner but the bin is at my house and the grow is 2 towns away so its hard to transport. Im going to be bringing the vermi bin over to the grow and the residents are going to be feeding it for me.

Im pulling for you that this works

reall like i said im at a stump here not much potasium product because the federal government wants them regulated due to them getting in the water system....this is what the agway guy said and im not sure i understand why but i can understand the fed gov has its fucked up regulations for a reason

i would flush but thats a pretty dumb ass move for a organic grow right?

Your flushing out all the good stuff in organics. I wouldn't do it. Stop using it for a week see what happens. I don't follow the instructions on the GO box to a tee. I've tweeked my own feed schedule using it along with Neptunes harvest and teas.

yeah i know, like i said though im at aloss, thought i had it down pat. i just think this fruity chronic juice is a heavy budder/feeder and im not giving it what it needs.

Here is a link. This is one to add in your favorites. You are in week 5 or so and yellowing is very common for fan leaves as the plant pulls the sugars from them. To help keep the plant greener looking longer, try adding more Nitrogen. I have read your journal and I understand you want to keep this organic so my approach would be to add a blood meal tea. Add the blood meal to warm water, stir, allow to sit at room temp to cool and then add to your plants soil.

A flush is the last thing I would try because you are using organics.

Adding lime to your soil is not the way to go to keep PH at check. Lime placed on top of a field dissolves and settles about 3 inches a year into the ground. It is very strong and can burn your roots; however this is not your problem just food for thought. Use PH adjusted soil at the start of your grow, buy some or make your own, which will be more complicated than it’s worth the bother. Your soil is dry at watering time and your plant takes up the water at first contact which doesn’t really give the lime in the soil time to adjustthe PH in the water they are drinking, that’s why it’s best to adjust first.

If you knew the PH of your soil at the start of your grow and you were to check it now, you would see a PH shift more similar towards the reading of your water source. You’re changing it with every watering.

Consider lime when you’re growing acres of crops not a small pot getting water in very dry conditions.
Pick up a PH meter when you can and lay off the cal mag, it is only necessary with reverse osmosis.

Nitrogen is more typically missing from soils than the other elements provided by most fertilizers (phosphorus and potassium). Plants grown in soil lacking proper amounts of nitrogen will yellow from the leaves down due to nitrogen deficiency. Applying blood meal will help plants become green again. This was copied and paste from Wikipedia, here is the link.

Note: Remember I’m not telling you what to do even if I come across that way, I am only offering you my advice. By the way, anyone know how to add this permanently at the bottom of my posts?

thanks for your advice. i only add 1 cup of lime per 2 cu ft of soil so its really not alot and it seems to work well for me. Appreciate the tip on the calmag have already stopped adding it in as its getting later into the grow and dont see the need to waste it.

im by far no pro at growing so any and all advice is always taken into consideration.
