Pot size

Big plant in a small pot means watering very often. I prefer the 10 gallon pots for big uns, and medium plants I use 5 gallon. Here is what I call a medium plant at day 19, those are usually about a pound. The 10 gallon ones ar more like 3 - 4 pounders but they are scrogged with trellis.

but they have small root space but grow well due to getting everything they need.
That's a beautiful plant!
And, using the beer bottle to give a size perspective was cool.
But, that looks like the whole plant is about a foot tall?

You know I'm fuckin with ya, right?

I guess anything is possible.
I just don't need any more challenges.

it wasnt much bigger than a foot tall. I dont have the head room nor the environment for tallish plants and that was with a 600w HPS so not much penetration.

How often are you watering plants that size? I have a few about half that size in 5 gals and I need to water every single day with plenty of run off and they still get a little too dry after 24 hours.

The 5 gallons are about every 24 - 28 hours but they aren't directly under a light, they are just on wheels and get pushed out the way. The 5 gallon ones are my girls plants on bucket dollies with a drain line. If it was under a light then it would be a 2 pounder and need water every 12 - 14 hours. Thats what it was like when I did 5 gallon pots in my rows, a little over 2 pounds a plant, upgrading to 10's really boosted yields while also making the watering times more manageable.

Yeah honestly I might bump it up to 10 or even 15 gallons because watering everyday is annoying. However I do wonder if restricting the roots and watering every day is more beneficial because of the fresh o2 and nutes given everyday vs watering every 2-3 days in a bigger pot.

No, the air is there when the soil dries out. Thats why you have to let soil dry out or you get root rot.

In coco you need to keep it wet but not drenched because the same thing happens but coco doesn't hold as much water so you don't have nearly as much time after a watering where you are over saturated. This is because the fibrous nature of coco allows lots of air pockets in the medium. Soil gets wet and lots of swelling happens and the air pockets are gone for a while.

We have had some really good solo cup grows just search the forum. 1 gal makes for alot of watering/feeding. A drip system set on 4 feedings a day will do it though. $25
My little solo cup experiment lol as it turned out out of 10 only 4 were female and ironic enough were the ones I left in solo cups lmao all in all tho I’m pretty proud of the little girls, week 5 of flowering. They started in a chinchilla cage wrapped in tin foil with 60 watt grow lights lol got the Mylar grow box and my 1000 watt hps ballast on the way. Not disappointed with my first grow what so ever I learned a shit ton and had a blast doing it.
