If i grow some sativa dominant hybrid photoperiod one, and grow 12/12 from seed and plant directly into the final pot what size would be best?

Good question, I just tried 12/12 from seed for the first time in the 12/12 party cup thread. Amazing to see what some strains can do even in a paltry 16 oz. party cup. FYI, I'm just growing out some clones and seeds and decided to try 1Gal fabric pots for this. Will be throwing in 4 total under a 100W actual draw chinese LED and just let them grow, no training other than will FIM them once at around 2-3 weeks. From what I've seen in the party cup thread and the 12/12 from seed thread you can grow out some nice plants in 1Gal and 2Gal pots. I'm going with 1Gal and trying 4 different strains, 2 indicas, 2 sativas, just to see if I can find one that does well in 12/12 from seed/clone and the difference between strains in a small container like that. The biggest pain I've found doing them in party cups is having to water/feed them every other day, sometimes daily, the 1gal pots should be good for 2-3 days between watering I'd think.

Just really depends. I'd do anything from say 2-3 gallon should be fine. I grow some monsters in 3 gallon that have veg so 2 should actually be fine.

Yeah, I have some large plants in 3Gal now, although some of these 12/12 from seed can get large, they're generally skinny/tall as they don't have the time to grow out massive root balls. That's where I'm thinking 1Gal will be fine, my decision is more room based than anything, I only have a small cabinet dedicated to 12/12 and keep it separate from my regular flower room and don't want to dedicate more light to it, so the 1Gal pots are better in that small space, less humidity to deal with in a small space. I'll likely try 2x plants in 2gal as comparison down the road but first run will use 4x 1Gal pots.

Ya if space is an issue then 1g is the way to go but otherwise give them a lil room. 2 would be a good bet on some long flowering sativa though I'd think. It really just depends.

Yeah, good point, sats typically take longer to finish so a larger pot would be good if you have the space/coverage

I say we need more info, lumens, growing medium, nutrients, geographic RH% all can play a factor. Even knowing all this its your own experience that will decide ;).
