pot is legal in Canada

I don't agree with trafficking. Growing a bit and smoking a bit is fine by me. I wouldn't be on the forum if I didn't feel that way. What separates trafficking from simple growing and smoking is the nature of the business. All the more reason to legalize it. Simply put, take the weed money out of the pockets of genuine criminals and put it towards companies who can produce the nicest strains and let it be in the open. Would you not agree?
Yeah that is exactly right, and it amazes me why governments can't see that. Allowing certain amounts of growing and possession would absolutely kill the criminal market. Who is gonna pay $200 or $300 an oz for someone they can grab from there backyard for free.

I still think weed needs to be treated like any drug though, no DUI, no public use (as in you can't just bust out a joint in the middle of the city), and possession and growing amounts need to be kept down to realistic personal use amounts (sorry to you oz a week smokers).

Anyway, Canada seems pretty cool, I should be heading there next April, might track down one of these cafes.

I thought it was only under 5 grams, but yes! In fact an officer informed a friend of mine recently, when he was nearly busted, that if he kept his weed in a basket or single informal container (he had several kilos on him) it's considered personal stash and you can't be charged.
Hooray for Canadians everywhere! Particularly Ontario.
And please emphasize to your friends that you CAN still be busted... but you might want to explain to the officer in calm, polite terms that charging you will lead to further laxation of marijuana laws.

Great Site in the original post (well signature) !!!

Oh and Kindred happens to be one of the nicest places in this great city. I used to hit up Hot Box Cafe all the time until I found Kindred. I still do both but kindred IMO is a bit superior for obvious reasons if you've been to them both.

hmm..... As an american, I have to say I'd rather give up my weed than my pistol, so I couldn't ever live in canada..... But it IS beautiful country, and there are some great people there.

Well it is possible to own handguns in Canada, but it is strictly controlled and it's almost impossible to get a concealed carry permit. I used to have a "CFAC" (collectors firearms acquisition certificate" but they changed the system a few years ago and I let it expire. I didn't really need it anyway as I only had it so we could have the "Mini-14" on the farm for varmits. At that point the Ruger was considered an "assault rifle"and was subject to same regs as handguns. Now they are relisted as longarms like shotguns and rifles, still need a "FAC" to purchase, but no big thing to get one.

alright you explain to me how you think it's legal in canada now?

i read some of the 'proof' and the articles about the case, but
how do you think the cops aren't going to just bust in and take
your shit because of some case that they don't even know about
yet most likely.. ??

legal in canada.. NOT!

that is an insult to anyone that has been busted for it in anyway.

what is this a narc board that flushes people out or something,
cause there is NO way you can be on here with a clear conscience
telling people that it is legal, while more are going to jail for it everyday.

just because they don't know to use the (precedent/precedant) case
talked about in the article..

i will read the stuff in more detail later.. but have to goto work soon.

still.. i won't even believe it IF you show me some proof probably,
cause i'm telling you IT IS AN INSULT to anyone that knows the truth
and has lived it.
