Posting info online about illegal grows

So I'm kind of curious to see, does anyone know of anyone having the police come to their home solely because they made posts about grow ops on Riu or any other forum? I would assume that in order for someone to get the police knocking down their door it would require more than online posts, such as traffic, neighbors complaining, ect. I always try to delete all the meta data out my photos, and never post any photos from my phone(because of geo locations). Now I realize if they wanna stick their government dick in you they will, regardless of what do. But my modo is to reduce risk when possible. thanks for the replies in advance.

Ps. Obviously I'm not talking about the medical growers.

Ive never heard of anything like that... But just be smart.. dont take pics with cell phones.. as newer ones do have gps encryption into the photos.. Dont post anything that might or could give your location away.. Be careful of what is laying around in ur background when u take pics.. Never give any of ur personal info out... A quote from another grower that is short sweet.. and too the point " True Safety Is a Lifestyle" If your gonna dabble in this world.. live by those words!

AUBURN, N.H. (AP) -- A New Hampshire man who inadvertently revealed his identity in anonymous online videos about his marijuana-growing operation has been sentenced to jail.

Police say Kyle Berry's how-to-grow-marijuana videos on YouTube were posted anonymously last fall, but his face was reflected off a shiny surface and a package showed his name.

Berry, of Auburn, pleaded guilty to manufacturing a controlled drug.

WMUR-TV reports Berry said he was growing the marijuana for his own use. Judge Marguerite Wageling says she had a hard time believing that, but agreed with Berry's lawyer that he was not a drug kingpin.

Berry was sentenced Tuesday to a year in jail, with four months suspended.

Hey thanks for the reply. the things you mentioned are all thing i try to be mindful of. Just wanted to know. I know technically they they are supposed to need to a warrant to get your IP address but we all know that's not happening, they do what they want, and then you have to prove your innocent.

Yeah, and its not like the dude was successfully reinventing the wheel, either.

Just keep it to yourself, plenty of fools around willing to post pics of their grows if you have to see it in action. To everyone else, it's just a picture of some dudes plants, so whatever glory people think there is in posting pics, is in their own damn head.
