I tried to get some close ups with some app I downloaded but I'm not very good at using it yet LOL!View attachment 4993869View attachment 4993870View attachment 4993872View attachment 4993874

She definitely still has a bit of time left. Hope to get some monster top colas! Damn dog hair is always sticking to the leaves LOL!

I'm going to be experimenting with bud washing this harvest. Non-washed vs baking soda/lemon juice vs hydrogen peroxide. They will be swirled in buckets of each, then swirled in RO water to rinse. I might try additional tests of plain RO, warm RO, and all 3 of baking soda/lemon juice/h202 as well and compare all batches. I will be inspecting them prior and will judge the success based on taste/smell/ looks.
I will inspect under magnification for removed debris/contamination and also for any trichome head degradation.

I'll be doing this with some top colas that will finish first, potentially pulled a little early. I have high hopes for at least one of these methods of bud washing so I want to observe some results to narrow down my choices before the rest of the harvest. It may not work out that way but regardless there will be some experimental comparisons done! :blsmoke:
Fucking eh I that will be interesting for sure I'll be watching for your updates! Lol

Hey what's that PVC pipe is It for watering the plant cause sheit I was looking into getting some of that panda wrap myself but I couldnt find anything only about how to use the stuff lmao well for outdoors anyways, but now I think I got it and gonna get all my shit together for next year lol faak bro you should be teaching this shit for a living lol
The PVC pipe is part of my SWICK set up and is used to fill the reservoir, but its really not needed because it is an open tote and I could just lift the panda film to fill it with water then replace the panda film. I only included it in my design to avoid having to do that LOL! PVC is only necessary for SIP designs
But I'm really not that lazy and check it often out of curiosity anyway.

Thank you btw! I've taught some ppl here and there over the years but kept some secrets here and there LOL you know "trade secrets"
But I love doing this shit and teaching/documenting the process helps retain the knowledge, plus I/anybody can always learn something new. If you think you know it all, do some side by sides or other experiments!

You can get panda film on Amazon if that's an option for you! Here's a link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018VI71GS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_4YVNZBBW8JP9DK59AYR1?psc=1

Holy fuck man those colas are huge lol and ya I agree I prefer gassy.. I'm definitely getting gorilla strain my next grow lol I gotta give it a go
Not bad for a 20 gal pot LOL
I think gassy will always be my favorite! This is my first time with anything gorilla and its bagseed of bagseed but hey she smells similar to the original and I've read shes a beast
I've grown some monster c4's and I think chems in the lineage? Idk I'd have to double check on that I'm ripped LOL

A few pictures of my simple SWICK set up

Hydroton on the bottom, coco on the top and in the drain holes. You can even use straight perlite just make sure it makes contact with the soil. This seems like it would be much more effective with fabric pots and is how I will be using this method moving forward. (Perlite/fabric pots)

I basically just shoved a corner under the weight of it and wrapped the panda film around the pot and res pretty tightly, then hooked both ends to a screw that I drilled into the plastic pot lip.

This makes it easy to unhook/hookup to check things out. I then tucked the excess panda film and used a little tape.

I also cut a couple pieces of film to cover the top of the pot, but it was a hassle and a loose fit due to the protruding stalks/bamboo stakes.

Here is the SIP setup that I made with a 10 gal fabric pot, a 4" net pot, and a short wide storage bin that I believe holds 7 gallons? Idk I cant remember and that sounds a little high like me, I'll have to double check and edit this LOL
20210923_115002.jpg20210923_115048.jpg
I didn't take many pics during construction so I'll have to take some more. I basically cut a plus sign (for lack of a better word atm LOL) + in the center of the smart pot and slid the 4 inch net pot through the slits. I made it a perfect tight fit so the lip of the net pot seats on the bottom of the fabric pot.
I cut a hole in the center of the storage bin lid just big enough for the net pot to slide in, and the fabric pot sits on top of the the lid/bin. The lid also has a bunch of small holes drilled in for extra aeration!

I filled the net pot and bottom inch or a little less with coco/perlite and saturated it. Then I added an inch or so layer of perlite(to help prevent oversaturation) and another inch or so of my promix/perlite(about 50/50) mix and saturated that as well. Then I used that mix(moistened) and filled the pot, saturating the edges of the pot. I poured a little bit of water in the center and planted my seeds. Some of the gg parents seedstock.

I then took panda film(black side out for now because they are seedlings and the weather will probably cool down by the time they mature), draped it over the whole thing, and tucked the excess. Then I cut a hole for the seedlings to come out.(2-3 days after I planted the seeds) I left it covered 2-3 days to keep the soil heated after I sewed the seeds!

I'm waiting until about the 3rd node for a stronger root base before I saturate the pot and hook it up to the reservoir.

This is by no means a great test of the SIPs potential, as these are started outdoor around harvest time with very little light LOL but I'm doing multiple experiments at the same time. The design that I used however, is one that I will continue using with various sizes of pots/reservoirs. This method as well as the other things that I'm trying will all receive their own attention and experimental side by sides in the future!

I really wish there was some more traffic in here! LOL I've spent a lot of time laying out solid techniques in detail that have required a lot of time and testing! I'm sure a lot of ppl could learn something from this thread already. There will be many new experiments and side by sides to come as well!

I encourage anybody reading this to try out these various methods of doing things, and then come back and tell me they dont work great! And if anybody thinks they know of any better way to do anything here, please tell me how so I can give it a try!

Maybe the name of the thread is too boring LOL
