Seriously, there are alot of people here on RIU that give some good solid advice but sometimes I am going through a thread and its asking about lighting for instance and some dumbass will suggest something like maybe its the pH or why not give the plant some molasses, that will fix it right up. Post this type of stuff here. Lets expose these people.
 
Good thread. Lots of people like to talk just to feel important, whether they know what they are talking about or not.

The dumbest advice I hear on a regular basis is when someone says to use a certain PPM without giving the conversion scale they are using. It just shows that they dont have an understanding of how TDS meters work.
 
What is a PPM ??

A common Old Wives Tale (there are others, believe me) is that Aluminium foil used as a reflector somehow causes hotspots on your plants. Total BS, people read it and then just repeat it, nobody has experienced it because it DOESN´T HAPPEN !!!

It still doesn't have the reflective qualities that high-grade mylar has...

aluminum foil reflects heat and there for if it is wrinkled and rippled looking it could reflect a hot spot and burn the plant it does happen if it reflects off a crease

this is one of the dumbest things i have ever heard aluminum foil dosent or cant burn plants please you have been called out on bad advice

Surely your light would have to be putting off a tremendous amount of heat and the plant and foil being in close proximity and the foil ebing creased in just the way. I'm not saying either way but i'm a little unsure on just how hotspots would occur under normal conditions.
 
When i was young i took my GF out to my grow site and told her that if we would have SEX ( we never did before this ) that the plants would grow better and she went for it... OOOOHHHHHHHH MAN!!! Was it good. Still thinking was the best sex ever.....

I dont think this is the dumbest thing but it is the most gross thing I have seen is using your urine on your plants. NASTY this is the most unsanitary thing I have ever heard I would have to be preety hard up to consider that hell i,d use an MG product before I piss on my plants .They deserve better than that !
