image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg HELP!!! Im running a 6 bulb CFL setup equaling 109 actual watts 1 18" T8 15w totaling 124w actual for my first grow. 3x2x4 box. Plant is 11 days old from bagseed 1st set of leaves came out (not cotelydons) curled up and 2 days ago I notice several brown spots with yellow rings around them then today I wake and find every new piece of new growth is showing them. Also, a few cracks in the leaves possibly light too close? I'm just doing one plant and it was approx 2-3 inches from lights overhead and just within the hour I dropped them to about 6.5-7 inches below the light. I water every 2-3 days started first 2 waterings at 2-3 ounces plant is in a 4inch medium then the last 2 waterings were 4 and 5 ounces of water. The water is tap and let sit for 36 hours I do
Not have a ph kit or stick to measure...from my research I've narrowed it down to
A: A Calcium Deficiency
B: Overwatering or Underwatering which I feel as if I've done neither always watched plant drain from bottom about 20%

I'm using organic soil Master Nursery Gardeners Gold with composted shellfish perlite lime and an already balanced ph. I have not fed any nutrients yet. Can somebody please give me some further insight?
Thank you

Hi how are you today? Needs baby food, and did you do a hand check on the lights, back of your hand burns so will the plants, light needs to be a little higher. Every 2 days is to much water, they need to dry out completely in between soakings. Up pot and bury her up to the bottom of the old leaves soon. I would need to see a pic of the grow box to help there.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg This is my current set up nothing special. I topped off the medium with some fresh soil that I had leftover and lowered the temp in the grow box and grow room from about 90 down to around 78 and within past 12 hours she's perked up a bit maybe it was too hot...

Should I transplant to a bigger medium? And you say bury it up to the leaves?

Yes I think it would benefit from a bigger pot and yes bury it up to the bottom leaves, this makes the trunk grow larger and thicker. Put soiless medium in and feel the weight dry, now water it and put the plant in and see the weight right after watering it in from the bottom. Then you get a great idea of the weight of it when wet and dry. Hope it helps.

What's up MD? Lol it's funny to me because I'm on RIU reading hundreds of posts a day trying to get educated and I see you answering on just about every forum Im
on. Then come to find out you gave me this wonderful tidbit of advice early on. I'd like to provide an update and see how you think it is fairing, for your opinion will be taken as advice. image.jpegimage.jpeg

Today is Day 33 Veg from seed...she gets watered every 5-6 days and has received 3 feedings of FF Grow big twice at 1/4 tsp per gal then once at 1 tsp per gal. Just bought FF tiger bloom and I'm on the fence whether I send this into flower this weekend preferably when I hit 5 weeks or just keep vegging. With another factor added I popped a seed out of a gram of some strawberry kush I bought couple weeks ago and germed it for 6 days and dropped it in soil 3 days ago and just last night it poked through soil looking healthy.

Back to my original dilemma. Do I veg her for say another 3 weeks and Flip at 8? Just so the seedling has a growing companion. This is my first grow and I've since changed grow chamber and increased total watts by 30 and added a mix of CFL between 5000-6500 and 1 2700 and 1 3500 to have a nice mix of spectrum.

First off thank you very much I appreciate the kind words. First it looks very healthy now nice Work there, I would try and get the lights a little lower if you can, back of the hand burns and its too low and will burn the plants, but the cfls need to be as close as you can to get all that good energy. I would wait unless you have space issues on height, it will double or tripple in the first 2 weeks of flower - then it will set buds and flowering will begin. I love the fact you mixed the spectrum bulbs that will really help. In flower you will be moving the light about daily so plan for it. I would try and get some side reflector rounds to get some side lighting in during the flowering and just bathe them in light. Then at least you have a adolesent plant going in with it and you can get a nice single cola too.

temp at 75, rh 50-70, and ph 6-7
My temp is between 78-89 all day 78-82 carefully monitored and when not sometimes jumps close to 90 which I know is not good but it's difficult to manage the heat and then the temp of the room it is in is cold due to outdoor temps so i find myself constantly heating the room the grow chamber is in. I don't know what RH is and I do not have a ph test but the soil is regulated it is master nursery gardeners gold plus the water sits for 36 hours to grow room temperature before I even
Mix nutrients. Knock on wood.......never had a problem with ph and too poor to even buy a kit let alone once of those fancy pancy ph pens......maybe Santa will bring me one? Hopefully he sends me krampus....fingers crossed.
Good day

rh is relative humidity. your grow box looks pretty open i have a feeling if it were more closed and air tight with only localized vents where you put them, youd have an easier time controlling conditions.

put a gallon jug of water in front of your heater to warm up some thermal mass, helps a lot. but again, the advantages are mitigated a bit in an open grow space. if youre manually monitoring temp maybe consider buying an outlet thermostat off amazon to do the work for you.

your soil may start nicely ph adjusted but dont forget that if you drop below 6 or raise above 7 youre risking lockout. ph strips and an adjustment kit are super cheap.

good luck!
