Pollination from a hemp farm

I found one seed the other day and didn't think much of it. This is my second grow here in Oregon and I have a lot to learn. Yesterday a neighbor called and asked if he could come over. He and another friend that grow wanted to check my plants for seeds and they found a few. They told me that both of their crops were heavily pollinated and are pretty sure it's from a large hemp farm some 10 miles north of us. My crop is sheltered to the north by a lot of trees and I have had my plants partially or fully covered most of this season so the problem appears minimal. This sucks. The pictures are just for fun:-)

I've been saying this was going to happen for years now.

Yup definetly happens. I've had an entire pull seeded out. Was not a good experience. Just gotta keep an eye out for fields of hemp and plan accordingly. I hope you don't pull a bunch of seeded cannabis.

your pistils don't look like they are dying from receiving pollen. Hopefully you're ok and only get a seed or two.
Some Coloradan's are trying to push their big ass industrial hemp fields to replace the former sugar cane plantation here in Hawaii on the Island Of Maui. Its gonna fuck with a lot of the locals if they get the ok to plant Hemp.

I've heard of a screen that keeps pollen out of the grow area if enclosed with it. Pollen only lasts for so long during a time of year where I live. Outdoors is harder to manage using this screen method but it will at least help somewhat. I've never used this screen before so I'm not sure if it is reasonable.

All in all I think hemp production is a good thing and I think it'd be mighty selfish to get mad at them getting in the way of us getting stoned. I also understand this is how a lot of guys make their living and their crop getting fucked is taking food from their mouth. But the hemp farmer is doing the same, just trying to make a living. Someone should make feminized hemp seeds and convince farmers to get on board? Market them as higher yielding like gmo seed companies do to make them more appealing

Wait till corporate companies become the main producers of marijuana. When it becomes federally legal it'll go something like this." Due to health concerns surrounding the drug we will limit production to these groups until more is known blah blah. And eventually the little guy will be pushed out

That's how the plan on controlling a lot of the illegal grows in CO, especially the smaller towns that don't have money to enforce it. I guess it will eventually force everyone to either move their shit indoors or to a greenhouse :/

Industrial hemp is a good thing in the long run, even if inconvenient for growing buds. I'd rather have seeded weed and have our energy be green instead of keeping up the fossil fuel consumption
