Politics Growers Thread

Yes. Get that. Everything has to be done to protect the dry wall from heat loading.

Think of drywall as a heat mass. Once it loads up, it too will re-radiate IR, just like the hood.

That was something I never got thru to X. The AC does not cool the air, primarily. It keeps tons of heat mass in the floor, wall, ceiling, and all the furnishings from heating up and re-radiating.

Just found a thread here by googling the product name + review...

https://www.rollitup.org/t/sun-shield-reflector-heat-shield.188623/

Adding double insulated ducting to your A/C input duct would also help

I would also recommend a DIY project to encapsulate and direct the light around the plants more. It seems from the pic you are loosing a fair amount of lumens that could be put to good use.

If you were to get one of those cheap 4 panel room dividers you could cover one side with reflective film to trap the light and focus it towards the plant.

Something like that is portable and can be used outside of the grow should you upgrade/move etc....

I haven't got my labeling in order. Let us see......

Ah. Those are Sour Diesel at 16 weeks. Still not ready. Maybe by 24Aug or so, they will be.

And behind those are Chernobyl.

I got a SourD/CaseyJonesD pair behind that, in the veg tent. And I put in 2 clones of The White, 2 weeks ago.

All seems well, except now I vape. And it all seems like a pretty meager catch after it all rends down to oil. But even then I seem to keep up with my own needs.

By Nov it will one full year of planting success in the Flow of Green or what I like call as a Disney fan, The March of the Clones. Sound Disney to me, whatever. :)

I think it is a bad idea for safety. If you lose air flow through that lamp then the heat shield will insulate the heat all internally and cause that bulb to blow quicker. In addition, it could start a fire again, if you lost air flow through the cool tube.

I am looking at this from a risk/reward standpoint. The heat that is created by that light will have to be dissapated somehow and a cover over the lamp is not going to automatically make some of it go away.

You have never even seen me angry.

Those are all good points.

But, the shield may be fire rated,
and losing air will lose the blub IAC

Oh and mainly I am about throughput and simplicity. No LST for me. Just clones in and harvest out, each month.

We are not worried about the shield, glass, enclosure or light bulb catching on fire.

However, the wiring and any plastic clips and/or other components at the socket end of the light fixture are still in danger in addition to the flexible tubing depending upon material.

I would not recommend it except as a last resort if she cannot keep the temps down in the bathroom. Again, the overall heat will be in that interior bathroom and outside in the general apartment and it is still the same heat volume.

I am unaware that is a controllable factor. They stretch to bloom. Some more than others.
the purists will say "no" to the stretch..mainly because of management and popcorns at the bottom..they are vine-like and LST actually takes the plants chemical (forgot the name) that's responsible for main cola and disburses it to the other branches which in turn cause them to "turn into" main colas..therefore, you have multiple main colas off one plant..additionally, keeping them shorter and putting netting on keeps the fans below and allow more colas to form..popcorns to fatten as the plant really is growing sideways..although it doesn't look it..keeps the grow closer to a SOG which is desirable.
