Heading out now to the city and should be at Costco this afternoon or tomorrow. Overnighter for the wife to see a specialist for her knee in the morning and get a scan in the afternoon. I'm getting me a new 27" monitor as my 24" packed it in last week and this old 21" sux.
Update on the monitor. Costco had only two different monitors there, both 27"ers. One was HP, which I don't like much for $300. A box of 2 LG, which I like a lot better is $370. $70 more for a 2nd monitor is a no-brainer for sure. Both have the same performance specs so I figure I can sell one for half what I paid and get a good deal on mine.

First thing I did once the car was unloaded was set it up and it looks sweet sitting beside the 35" LG 1080i TV I got at the thrift store for $50.

The Scottish in me loves a deal!

Good thing Costco is 2 hours away or I'd be perpetually broke! :D

I bought a 27" LG monitor at Walmart for $150 that I like a lot.

The stand was total crap, which is fine since I've got it mounted on an arm.

or you could start feeding the spare. Behold a 96” monitor with outstanding vertical hold and a fair amount of resolution.

Must be the same as mine then as this stand is a POS but it actually is just about the perfect height. With no tilt I'll Just put something under the front of the big square foot to raise the front a bit. I do have a tilt and swivel wall mount I got at the good old thrift store for $5 a couple years ago and planned to use with the TV but won't work with my setup.

Speaking of thrift stores I popped into the big one in the city and scored a pair of brand new Sun Blaster T5HO 54W, 6500K grow lights new in their cases with the original $15 each price tags on them for $5. Now I just need a two tube T5HO fixture to run them in. :)

When we first got to the city we went straight to the emerg at the new hospital as the wife started having serious chest pains half way there so I boogied along at 140km/h in a 110 zone the rest of the way. Got an ECG, blood work and X-ray that only took about an hour them moved to a bed in the ICU area but they figure it's a duodenal ulcer possibly so follow up is needed back home. Can't have an MRI because of SS rods in her back for scoliosis. All this screaming about wait times but she was out of there in 2.5 hours. Still feeling like shit but she was feeling crappy for about 3 days before we left on Sunday morning. She did have a mild heart attack a couple years ago so was a mild panic for a bit. I was reviewing my first aid procedures as we drove along but I's been about 10 years since my last update course. Should have checked at Costco for a home defibrillator!

Wtf do you do if you need to open the gate? I would poke it in the belly with a stick from inside...and maybe keep a shovel handy to push it back over if it tried to breech the wall.

I would take it over freaking mountain lions anytime.

I liked this post because it is dripping with stereotypical Canadian shit.

Speaking of dripping, I’ve had the same 500ml container of maple syrup in the fridge now for over 6 years.

Safe travels.
I can't believe they would even sell anything but real maple in Canada- what an insult. I only buy Canadian myself so no real Canadian has an excuse. I invest in your economy as cousins and border-mates.

Expensive as hell, but worth every grade a amber drop.

While i know that Canadians are real people, who like a lot of different stuff, the typical American over 50 pretty much has sctv, Bob and Doug, and Red Green as their idea of what canada is like, so we imagine fridges full of Labatts, Moosehead, back bacon, and poutine, and bags of vinegar and ketchup flavored chips...
Very true..you forgot the flat packs of cigarettes..has anything changed, Canadians?
