in a government that we fight for but doesn't fight for us,

When we are young, they teach us not to fight
we get kicked out of school if we feel it's right,
we get shamed by society if we stay on the streets at night,
though if we choose to kill in uniform,
they say we've seen the light
and if we do it for our country, we're seen as knights
they call them patriots, but they don't see the strife
they see a noble man and all his stripes,
They see a man who had to kill the enemy to keep his people's life,
in reality
he's just another gang member, who comes home to see his wife
