Plush Berry Headroom

Rrog

Well-Known Member
I have a small grow area with limited height. Using 7 gallon pails, SuperSoil protocol. Best grow I ever had, easily. Using 600W HPS Blue Hort bulb in a hood.

I have 36" of max distance between the pail and the glass in the hood. The hood is well ventilated so the area under the glass is cool.

Plants have been heavily LST'd, including the main stalk and large side branches. I have a very wide canopy. Beautiful.

I had planned to have ONLY one row of plants in a SCROG as I have before. But the P-Berry seeds all grew and all but one were female. Bummer, right? ;) I can't bear to chop some to make better room.

Using TWO SCROG screens will be very tough, and not give me access to the back row. So... I'm wondering if I keep LST-ing and trimming off low branches, popcorn buds, etc, would I have enough room to complete this grow.?

Thanks for any opinions.

Boiled down, I'm just wondering if I can keep Plush Berry plants under 36" tall for the next 7 weeks without a scrog screen.

Really yours stretched? I have 5 going and so far they a really compact, squat little buggers. Were your like that in the beginning?
Anyways, I scrogged once and honestly I wish I had just lst'd. As long as you have the width I think you could do it. Maybe some pictures would get you some more help.

Thanks for that. By the way, they vegged for 4 weeks. Started from seeds. Three Plush Berry and one MNS SSH. (looks like I'm following Beansly footsteps)

I think I'll try to keep things in check with LST tying. Prune off the small growth that will never become big bud. Just shoot for the big colas.

The plants are not 12" tall from the rim of the pail right now. Again, heavy LST so far. Beansly, you'd suggest just tying back, then?

Well I do scrog, but I've grown plush and she will stretch in flower. Plus by you trimming lower growth it will encourage more height. I would tie them back if width isn't an issue, and top untilled they start budding. Side note you SSH is gonna stretch alot more and take alot longer to finish then plush.

Yea, I just finished a SSH grow. This might be an 8 week pheno, though.

I didn't know trimming encourages height, but I guess I'm diverting growing efforts when I cut low branching.

I'll just have to battle them as gently as possible. Don't want to stress and hermie.

plushB#2-53dayflower.jpegPlushb#2-53daysflower2.jpegAre you keeping mothers? I managed to grab a 5-pack and got 4 females and am straight struggling to decide which truly is my favorite. 2 have stretch and 1 doesn't but the flavors and colors range all quite beautifully.

removing entire leads from bushy plants, encourages stretching not clearing out the fluff from below the canopy. how close are the tops to the glass now? how much longer do u plan to veg and how much more width do you have? you can always hard top them as well

Plants are 1 week into flower. Vegged for 4 weeks from seed.

Plants are 1 - 1.5 feet tall from the top rim of the pail. The bottom of the light can be 36" above the rim of the pail, but no more.

600W HPS

I'm going to scrog two, I decided. The two in the back. The two in the front I'll have to wing. I'll keep LST and pruning those 2. See what happens. At least I'll learn something

This canopy is 34" x 30". 4 plants. Best canopy I ever had. Wish I had 1000W. This 600 seems insufficient.
