Please tell me I'm being paranoid.....

I see these slightly odd looking little things on the top cola of one of my Sativas. She's 9 and a half weeks into 12/12. Is it possible that these are pollen sacs? They're only directly on the bud, not on or near any calyx's. I circled one in this pic.... please tell me I'm paranoid!

No i wouldn't say your paranoid but i would keep an eye on it or maybe look to remove it and look for more as it does look like a pollen sack

There are others... maybe 5-7 of them. Not on all the buds... actually almost entirely on the top cola. I'm going to lose my sh*t if these are pollen sacs. Any tips on removing them?

from the picture it kind of looks like nanners are about to pop open. Dont worry, you can take care of it. Use tweezers and pick them off and then spray with regular water right where you picked them off. A lot of plants will throw male flowers at the end because they know the end is near and its a last ditch effort to save themselves.

Gently pull 1 off and dissect it and take a look if it's a pod take as many as you can find off

try a different strain next time right, if you don't want any 'intersex' characteristics, but if its just one here and there it could be from heat

9 1/2 weeks into flower what do triches look like. this could be simply from letting the plant go too long. either way maybe its time to chop chop, cant produce seeds if the plant is dead. if you dont want to chop then expect more to come as like above said its a last ditch effort to pollinate. all Mj plants carry the genes to create male flowers its part of thier natural survival tactics.

bottom line, check trichs, make the decision to chop or to keep it going.

look on the bright side, any seeds you get out of it are 95% chance to be a female :) and at 9.5 weeks into flower i would say that that plant is a pure female, usually genetic hermies have nanners developing when the pistols start showing up.

Thanks for the help to everyone.

Trichs are half clear, half cloudy. I was trying to hold out to let them all get cloudy... figured I had another 2-3 weeks to go. She's definitely heavy Sativa dominant too, so I expected 10-12 weeks of flowering, if not longer.

The pod things just showed up like on Sunday. Most of them actually appear to be open already... maybe these are fake and would've filled with resin? My tweezers were sticky after I removed a couple of them. If they are pollen sacs, at this stage how much damage will they do (are my buds all gonna be filled with seeds?)?

again that all depends on how many pop out and how many you miss and how much longer you let them flower for. try and get as many as you can and hope for the best man, if its for personal use a few seeds wont hurt anything, might make the dry weight a bit higher but the smoke is still going to be fine

Thanks again for the help. It's personal use - I was just afraid of being just loaded with seeds after all this work. Hopefully that won't be the case!

nah i dont think you will be (theres a chance i can be wrong) but its definatly worth finishing. like i said above. the seeds will be feminized so it could be a good thing finding a couple (free fem seeds are always good)

just stay on top of picking them nanners and you should be fine, if one gets past you its not going to produce thousands of seed (well it could but the chances of the pollen making it to every pistol on your plant are pretty slim)

I have to agree with the above diagnosis'... Looks like 'nanerz dude... I would for sure tweeze them off, and I would also suggest checking for any light leaks, i.e. light poisening, because it looks like they could have arisen because of the occaisional peek at ladies at rest... If that is the case, might I suggest making sure u start with total darkness, and creep up on 'em with a green light on a head band? That way, u can look at them in the dartk, and not run the risk of having male flowers pop up, seemingly out of nowhere... Believe me, it has happenned to myself, and some of the best growers I know, as well...

Those "bananas" are "Survivor Pollen Pods" ... They apear on Sensemilla buds when under stress and when buds are grown 10->14 days after due date :) ... The particularity of this pollen, is that aplied upon an other Sensemilla pistils, WILL produce 100% Female seeds :) To preserve the pollen viabilty, keep the "Bananas" in glass vial in the firde butter compartment.
