Please help!

Waaay too hot man, be patient and go with lower temps. Actually try reading one or 2 of the vacuum purge/oil tutorial threads instead of just trying to magically make awesome oil. If I remember correctly you had another easily answered question as a new thread as well...

you think its 150 or youve tested it with an IR gun??? big difference there.

also, theres a big difference in the griddle temp, and your oils temp.

Ya I have NEVER taken my oil over 130 and thats for comb/wax... temp gun is a necessity if you're actually trying to get consistent results...

I have a IR, warm is actually in the 170/180 area...what I don't get is I can put a piece of comb on the 180 degree griddle and it won't melt...doset even start to melt till 200ish, and even then still not goo after it cools..so how could 150 perma goo??

How long have you had your gun? Have you accuracy tested against someone else's? What are you putting in between the griddle and the wax? Something is off Bublonic...

Man I have no clue... I personally have not tested finished wax like that so can't comment further lol I just have known peeps that perma gooed their stuff at like 140-150 but maybe it's dif after it's done and stable...?

Didn't see the video at first, sorry lol

so is that why it's gooey because of the high temp? did i evaporate oil by doing this? also i still don't get the difference in making between wax and shatter it's just the temp?

yes, you basically "burnt" or melted it so to speak and we havnt found a way to make it solidify ever again after "burning" or melting it.

its not the temp, its the time spent in the chamber, or on the heat.

shatter is nice stuff, done right.

wax means it was in there WAY too long, and you dried the hell out of it by sucking the guts out of it, and it eventually dries up. the oil needs to remain soft and liquidy in order for it to dry out.. so 110F or so is the right temp. after a day or 2, it will turn to wax and lose all its flavor. then, you can heat it up, and melt that wax back into your "perma goo" stuff which is no fun to deal with.

after typing all this, I now realize you arent using a vacuum chamber. same concept... except your way just takes way longer.

Tbh, iv noticed the comb that gets hotter for a shorter period of time taste better, like wax made at 130 in 4 hours will taste better than wax made at 110 for 48 hrs...buut, since gettin into the freeze purging I have less desire to turn my oil into wax anyway , my bro says it taste like oil in HD lol
