I ph now, I flushed a little today with RO water with 1/2 tsp of urb ph’d to 6.5 and tomorrow I’m going to finish, it may take 3 days possibly. Can anyone help me with a. Better way of a water source, I have a 7 gal smart pot but I can’t afford RO water because it’s 1$ a gal and it takes 21 gals to flush it and I have another plant affected by the same way. I ran the runoff and it was very high 800-900 ppm I used 6 gal today and ppm of water where a range from 23-90 ppm my tds meter wasn’t working well today, my ph meter doesn’t work anymore which is a huge bummer. I plan on ordering one soon just I’m tight on money right now. Also ph’ing Is a huge pain in the ass the RO water is 7.0 but I use general hydroponics ph up and ph down when I put one drop it drops to 4.0 then when I add one of ph up it goes back to 7.0 and then I have to keep trying and then I finally get it after a while but it’s a pain in the ass.
I also have espoma soil acidifier and espoma garden lime to lower and raise ph, but I heard that stuffs crap so I’m not sure what to do...

Hi petri,

I would personally give just plain water. No ph adjustment, But since its RO a tiny, tiny bit of nutrient is ok.
Dry it out some too.

How big is the plant, and how many leaves are we talking % wise?

Good luck.

So many people have told me to ph that’s where I’m going wrong. And the other half say don’t. Do I not flush anymore and start just watering with maybe 1/4 the amount of nutes along with urb and liquid seaweed? Or plain RO water ph’d or not? How much water for a 2 1/2 month old plant that’s 19”. What do you mean by % of leaves? As in how much I defoliate and lollipoped? I usually do let it dry out until it’s sometimes very very dry just to let the roots look for nutes.

Petri,

If it were me in your shoes, i personally wouldnt ph your water. Also depending on the severity, and stage of growth, i wouldn't worry about anything. Just bare your soil ph in mind next time when you're potting up your soil. Make sure you check it before you plant is what i mean.

What I meant was how much of your plant looks like the leaves in your photo?

What stage of growth is it in?

You do want a tiny ec in your water preferably. Instead of straight RO.

:peace:

P.S.
Any chance of a whole plant photo?

Honestly I’d really like to learn a lot about growing.i know a lot of the basic stuff in my opinion I’m not a bad grower am just tight on money at the moment and sometimes I get very impatient lol. This is my second grow and it’s going okay, I’d just like to learn a lottt more so I have that knowledge and I can put it to use. I’m not very familiar with micros.
Check out this link for study material.

I found a great spot to download FREE POT BOOKS. I downloaded a grow bible first and got lots more. Books look great and complete like the real ones I have here. No web site but just a page of links. Just right click on what you want and then "Save Link As" to download so they don't open first as some are 50+ megs. They got lots. Enjoy.

Why should I not ph if that may be another reason why my plant is being affected. I don’t know if that’s why just a thought. They look fine to be honest. I took off all the leafs that were affected and it was about 10ish leafs each plant. Overall the plant looks healthy and growing nicely. I know I should’ve checked my soil ph but is there a way to correct it? I don’t have much money but I have enough to where I maybe can spend an extra 20-40$ here and there for emergencies. It’s in vegetative for 2 1/2 months. I want to put it into flowering asap

Petri,

Waters ph has little effect on the soil itself. Soil isn't inert material. It has a cation exchange capacity. Plus buffers and amendments.
If you want proof, and have a soil kit. Take 2 samples of the same soil. One dampened with plain water. The other sample dampened with ph adjusted water. Leave the samples for half an hour, or so. Then test the samples. They'll be very close to one another.

Has it been in the same pot for 2 months, out of curiosity? Is the plant root bound?
How big is the pot?

You could use sulphur to bring the ph down. Be careful using sulphur. It takes time to activate (days +). Or mulch with some peat moss.
There's a few options out there.

No I started in red solo after 2 weeks I transplanted to 1 gal after 2 weeks I transplanted to 7gal and they’ve been in the 7 gal for a month and a half. It’s a 7 gal smart pot pretty sure not rootbound. Plant is 19”in. So if I use mulch with peat how much to lower my soil from 7.0 to about 6.3-6.5.

should I go into flowering? It’s definitely big enough.

Yeah sounds good. Just mulch the top with peat moss. I say go for it too. Put it into flower, if you like.
