Please help problem with my clones, going yellow and flowering?

Hi , so I have some clones from a friend were well rooted in small cubes kept them inside for a few days just in the kitchen, then transplanted them to pots with coco , pre watered with a+b nutrient solution now they have been on 18/6 for a few days in the tent under my hps, but I haven’t really noticed any growth just droopy and have started to go quite light/yellow since and it also looks like they are early stage of flowering , im not sure there is a few white pistols appeared around the top , or have do they have too much nutrients? what can I do to just get them growing quicker darker leaves please help

I see a few problems.

Number 1
Too large pot for such small clones.

number 2
Coco needs full saturation and ideally allow some runoff (at this stage I would not water daily)

number 3
You haven’t told us what your variables are for your grow. HPS wattage? Temps? RH? Ppm or EC of the nutrients you fed to them when it was mixed into the water?

The soil underneath is all wet they are too small to use much water I think so I was leaving the soil to dry a little , hps is 600 but turned down to 400 atm , temp is 18 to 16 and rh 50 -60 usually , didnt check the water etc but I guess not too high (made a 10l can then used just enough for all

If you’re using coco it’s best to know how strong your nutrients are being mixed at.

Whether you think they’re too small to use much water or not, that’s just not how coco works. It’s not soil! It has to be fed every time with nutrients but the strength of those nutrients will help to determine if you’re feeding too little or too much for their stage of growth.

when plants are smaller in a large pot I always advise allowing a day or 2 between feedings initially to allow roots to develop better.

Others may tell you to water every day, personally I don’t feel it’s necessary when plants are young or freshly transplanted, but it won’t hurt the plant to feed every day. (At the height of flowering I feed my coco plants 5x a day).

Additonal info.

also your temps are very low. 16-18Celsius is lowest. You should aim for 25C if you can.

okay thanks for the reply, so In summary you think I should water them till run off with clean water and then wait 2 or 3 days then see how it goes, if the yellowing is because too much nutrients? It doesn’t look like nutrient burn though

You don't have to soak daily with small plants like that in coco but the roots will not grow into that dry coco. You need to have it wet.

No.
This is what I would do.

Use a meter to test the strength of your nutrients when they are mixed. EC meter or PPM meter etc.


mix them to around 0.8EC or 400ppm on the 500 scale.

Ph the solution to pH6.

feed the plants until runoff.

wait 1 or 2 days and do it again.

then repeat.

Add heat or slow down your exhaust fan so that you aren’t exhausting your HPS heat. You could also house your ballast in the grow area for additional heat.

One last question.

where is your thermometer or gauge etc?

Could you place it on the floor of the tent next to the plants?

Leave it there for 1 hour then check what it reads?

Yeah around 3 days ago I understand I should water them often in coco but when it is still wet underneeth and they are so small i think not really taking any water didnt think i need to water them so much till it dried out a little unless I put too much nutrients in the water, will check this Waters ec tomorow and then water again with lower i think

it is next to them and is 17 with the hps and extractor on slow

I made a previous grow with this but from seed and it was really good quality grew super quick and had no problems just this time nothing seems to be happening and they look a little sad plus I am still not sure if while they were in my kitchen they changed to flowering cause it’s winter here so light from say 6.30 -7 till 7, if they did begin to flower will it revert to veg with much more light now, maby this is why nothing has really happened in terms of groth, Maby i need a heater to bring the temp up to more near 25 while there so small
