Hey guys need some help from some seasoned growers, my mate has got a few plants going 18/6 and I was just over at his and noticed some pre flowers he has had them going for 8 weeks I can clearly tell from the white pistils which are the females but he has one very nice looking plant that I suspect to be male is it to early to tell to me it looks like a male pre flower but not sure if I should tell him to toss it or if white pistils will emerge from these growths ill attach picture below s

just wait for the pistils to emerge or for it to develop more it wont form and spray pollen overnight before you can definitively tell yourself

Ok ill tell him to give it a little longer, several plants in there are defiant females and are pre flowering so just a little worried any idea how long male flowers develop before pollinating? Cheers for your reply :-)

You would have to have it on 12/12 for the male preflowers to even turn to fully loaded ball sacks, and even then it would take time for them to develop pollen sacks. If you are wanting to get males out before flip there is no real need to. They will show within the first week and you can then remove them. I know if I wasn't that experienced, I'd flip then sex so I didn't get rid of a female. I wouldn't 100% trust anybodies advice just from a sub-par picture. Good Luck
