So I just got the vivosun 36x18x30 tent and I'm running 4 24w cfls with two plants (quantum kush) and heat has been an issue. I have a 4inch inline up top pulling out the heat the a 6in an a 9in fan inside.

My question is should i buy a 2nd inline to blow air in or should i use a fan booster?

Heat has been an issue. Sorry no pics atm. Avg temp has been about 85 to 87.

No chance you can cut a hole? I'm assuming you're in an apartment, or are otherwise renting. But with 80 degree ambient temp you'll be hard pressed to cool it down without a/c

Nope. Renting. I wish I could. I'm thinking those long lasting cold packs in front of the exhaust to pull in cold air.

Leave the closet door open as much as possible to lower the ambient temp. Cold packs may help, but idk about the best way to use them. I ended up building a box for my lights that keeps their heat separated from the rest of the space and it dropped my temps about 5f.

The built-in ballasts on cfl do generate a decent bit of heat, isolating that source would definitely help

Keep the doors open. Get a piece of rock board or thick reinforced cardboard that fits in where the doors are when open. Cut a hole to allow duct to remove heat. Cut slits in the lower portion to allow new air back in.
There are some fans not fit for purpose so check yours is actually moving the hot air out. Its 100% needed to remove the heat from the tent and closet or it will just get warmer and warmer. Ideally you want that heat out of the whole apartment.

With 4 24w cfls you can barely light 1x2ft of space to grow anything worth smoking. A HLG65 would be less heat, but not much less but it would be a lot better than 96w of cfl.

In all honesty I think your fighting a losing battle , tents that size may be sold but they are really only for keeping clones in.

Is the closet ceiling running to the attic? If so and there is a light fixture in the closet you can take that down and run your exhaust without cutting a hole. Replace the fixture when moving.

Hope that helps.

With temps like that, I want to suggest something completely different. Use the heat. Research CO2 supplementation. Running 1000ppm CO2 in there or higher will allow your plants to tolerate that heat and put it into production of energy.

Perhaps a 1-3 gallon fermentation bucket with water, sugar and yeast?

I actually did pick up a c02 bag but I also found a way to get below 80 degrees and my t5 just showed up along with smart pots so I transplanted them and then set up the new fixture..

Pretty sure they are in shock tho. =(
