Please help! Leaf tips burnt & curled

Hi everyone!

This is my first post here. I have been lurking around, reading up information but ran into a problem, thus, here i am. I would greatly appreciate your help into solving the problem with my plants :weed:

Information:

Plants are about 1 month old (1 week into flowering. 3 weeks of vegetative growth). Currently going 12/12 lighting.

Temperature of grow area is around 90-100 degrees (i know its a little too hot but i don't really know what i can do to cool the area down. I live in a tropical country with an average temperature of 86 degrees. I have a small USB fan in the grow area though blowing at the wall "reflecting" the wind to the plants. I read somewhere not to point fans directly at plants.

I water them once every 3-4 days depending on how dry the soil gets. I spray the leaves with water once a day to cool them down.

Problems:

1) On both my plants, the leaf tips are really curled up (refer to pics) and dried up.

2) On one plant, the bottom leafs seem to be crumbled. Much like when you buy vegetables from the market and leave them on the table over night. (refer to picture)

3) Somehow, after i started the flowering phase (12/12) the plant growth has seemed to stop. Nothing much has happened besides small sprouts appearing between nodes only on one 1 plant.

I would really appreciate any help! This is my first time ever growing plants and i if i am asking stupid questions, please be patient with me

You will have to try to reduce temps. Exhaust old air outside with ducting and a centrifugal fan, i doubt the av temp at night is 86 so only run lights at night. The soil burnt the tips so use different medium next time, not a major issue . Dont spray the leaves as you have high rh.

Hey BUDS! Thanks so much for the reply. Could you help me understand some of the terms used? Im not too familiar with them, sorry. What is "high rh"?

So, for the fan, i dont need one pointing towards the plants but instead, i need a fan pointing OUT of the grow area to remove the air inside?

Also, what do you mean that the soil burnt the leaf tips? I would love to understand more on this, seems interesting!

Thank you so much!

The burn tips are nute burn so reduce feeding by about 20%. Rh is relative humidity.

You need this to dump the old hot air outside and exchange the air in the room and grow area about every 10 mins, also consider buying an A/C. Buy these-

Ah alright i understand. Thanks for the help buds!

I just got home and looked at my plants. I think one of them is dying! Its leaves seem to be wilting and its spreading up the plant. Yesterday, only the very bottom 2 leaves were wilting. Now, it has spread up to the next 2 nodes. Any idea what's going on? I'm worried it is going to spread to the top.

Here's your solution!!! If it is infact nute burn, you need to quit watering them. Try only spraying them a few times a day to keep them moist, rather than continuing the nutrient supplement by watering them. Either way, you need to do something about the temperature. Try not to let your temps get past 82. Your easiest solution to that is to have an intake and exhaust fan in your box, plus a fan blowing directly on your lights. I used to buy the small 6" $6 fans from wallmart to do the job, and they always worked perfect! Also I used a cardboard box, but be creative and figure out how to exhaust that hot air!

Thanks so much for your reply! Alright, i'll work something out about the temperature. Gonna make a proper grow box tonight. Looks like i might only get 1 plant out of the 3. Will update here.

Cheers guys!

If you like the plants your going to lose, or just want to see what they will end up like.....take clones. You'd be surprised how much clones can endure and shake back!!!! Just make sure you have a good humidor for them. I used to use old water bottles that I'd cut to make a "greenhouse." Check out my grow. I didn't have a job at the time, and money was very very tight. You can find a lot of "ghetto" ways to grown in my journal!

Thanks everyone for the replies, i greatly appreciate it! I made a few changes and got myself a mini industrial fan to act as an exhaust in the grow area. Right now, temperature is roughly at 78 degrees. So much difference!

One last mini issue. The fan is right beside one of the plants so the back of the fan which is drawing air in is about 2 inches from the plant. The plant is moving a little due to the air pull. That should be okay right?

I will update the status of the plants in a few days time!

Ok guys! I know its been a long time but here is an update. Of the 3 plants, 2 of them are dead. most likely due to heat stress.

Now, the last plant has been 1 month into flowering but there are 0 signs of flowering haha. I am not sure why. In the day, i keep it in my cupboard (total darkness) for 12 hours and then back in the grow area for the next 12 hours. But it's not flowering at all. The plant continued growing a little though.

The yellowing and wilting and eventually dying of the bottom leaves are still happening though but at a slower rate. So far of this plant, i think about 4 nodes had died out on me. Do check out the pics below!

Let me know what you guys think. Why is it not flowering and should i be concerned about the wilting of the bottom leaves.

Thank you! :)
