Please help! First timer.

Hi all!

I'm very excited because a friend of my gave me a 3month old outdoor plant.
Some info about the plant:

1. It grew for 3 months inside a 6oz plastic cup! So even though it's 3 months old it looks pretty young. My friend brought it with him on a 4hour drive...

2. As soon as I got it, I transplanted it to a bigger pot.

3. One or two days in the leaves started to curl on the edges, getting brownish and pretty much looked like they were dying, regardless I think it's starting to flower because I see small leaves growing where the stems meet and it's starting to smell.

4. I keep it on my balcony where it gets a few hours of direct sunlight in the morning.

5. I water it once a day.

Here a few pictures of the plant and the leaves, I really don't want it to die, got any suggestions?

shouldnt water every day, just when needed . need more light than a few hours, 18 hours if you in veg.

Thanks! I didn't know i shouldnt water it everyday all my friends told me to give it plenty of water. How do I know when it needs water?
About the light, it recieves 3-4 hours of direct sunlight but it sits on my balcony so it gets light all day just not direct sun light.

It's definiteley stretched, I hope it's getting more than a few hours of good light. Check the pictures here to see what the problem is with the leaves:

I keep that link in my favorites, I use it all the time and often sent it RIU'ers with problems.

more and better light the better, stick your finger an inch or two into the comost, if dry water til runs out pot.you can tell by the weight of pot how wet it is with experience

Buy a light!!! you can get them fairly cheaply or really expensive depending on what your looking to get from it. That thing needs more light. do you have a closet or somewhere to put it? Also during flowering(budding) the plant need nearly complete darkness(no light above moonlight intensity).

Watering - you can tell by the weight of the pot when feels light add some water. Thats how i do my soily's. Good luck

let the plant dry out , give it the best 18hours light u can , when the plant has been watered pick it up and feel how heavy , then let it dry out , then note the weight again , usually every 3 days is enough , if u overwater u suffocate the roots(simplified) and the plant will die! hope that helps =)

About the light exposure. Must it be direct light exposure? Or can it sit on my balcony while it's sunny out but the light doesnt hit the plant directly?

Also, it's pretty windy out on my balcony, I see the plant rocks a bit from side to side even with the sticks i put to support it. Does this affect its health?

wind will help it strengthen up. remember they grow in the wild!!!

full sun would be best or lights..

Should have direct light. Wind onle makes it stronger as long as not severe winds

SO,
Since I can only give the plant 3-4 hours of natural sun light I set up a closet with a light and a fan blowing air into the closet.
The closet is in a mezzanine in my apt, i feel like it's pretty humid up there, will the switch from outsite to the closet affect the health of the plant?

The schedule I thought of is this:
midnight-6am outside for darkness and fresh air
6am-9:30am outside for natural sunlight
930am-midnight in closet with light and fan
