Any help would be appreciated.

400 watt HPS
soiless mix(perlite & vermiculite)
Foxfarm big bloom
Foxfarm open seasme
liquid karma

I just started the open seasme yesterday, this problem started about a week ago. Started flowering 5 days ago.

Basicly all of the leaves on the bottom of the plant are turning brown on the outside edges, dryin out then fallin off. The last couple of days all of the fan leaves except the top 2 rows are turning brown and drying out also. As soon as i noticed this i flushed(about a week ago). I flushed agian the day before yesterday. I have been real carefull about how much newts i put in. I PH all my water.

dont take this to heart cos i cant say for sure but to me it looks more like a calcium deficiency or perhaps even a phosporous deficiency and magnesium deficiency.

i think we can rule out light/heat stress as 400 watts in a space as big as yours looks shouldnt be a worry.

check the bottles and see if they contain much magnesium not manganese if not then a bit of Epsom salts will help out. i have noticed this can come in handy as long as its not all from nute lock. which if you say youve flushed it couldnt be.

sorry this is a bit scatterd but i guess all ma posts are that way lol. hope it helps though.

peace out

though i will ask what arwe the ratios on the nutes. is there lots of nitrogen. ya need heaps untill u start the flowering cycle.

I wil have to go look. This is my first grow. Can you recommend a good strain for my next grow? Something that will withstand my ignorance! LOL I still have alot to learn.

SHIVA

though they are all pretty much the same in my opinion. in this game things are only as hard or as easy as you make them really though SHIVA is a nice strain and a true beauty when grown right. the high well nobody can complain thats for sure its a bit up and a bit down making it easily suitable for basically any day and any person.

its also an old strain and can be reproduced relatively easily if you wanted too (the strains relatively true breeding.

shiva is middle sized in height. suiting indoor and outdoors well. that strain youve got there seems pretty sativa like (tall), not to mention it looks like its stretching for the light a bit.

you gotta get that plant healthy and begin flowering or your going to run out of room and get a low yield because there not getting enough light.

if your working with a 400 watt light id get a nice sativa/indica cross or an indica and try to keep them low.

p.s dont get your shiva from the nirvana seedbank instead may i suggest finding a bank that stocks nirvanas shit and get it from there.. nirvana ripped me once before thats all.

p.s
sativa will give you an energetic stoned and is more commenly associated with the cerebral kinda high thou indica can deliver this too. (good for doing shit and being social)

indicas will give you the couch lock effect (good medacine) though i find the indica stoned to be more inspirational. "i tried to start a thread once on ppls oppinions that went nowhere lol though i coulda wrote ma question a bit more clear"

obviosly a cross is going to be able to give you almost any comination so its always good to research.

you can also enfluence the stoned of your plant by harvesting at different times. but that my friend is a story for a later day lol.
