I absolutely can not use another light but want to protect my yield.

4x8 tent. I can even make it 4x6 (cut off an area to dry). But I want to use a 600 watt lamp. Can I have a light mover move to cover the extra space? or total waste?

what if i had the 4x8 and it moved the entire 6 feet?

Will i get more yield from a 4x4 with 600 steady or a 4x6 with a light mover?

anyone anything?
Go with the light mover. I'm a bit confused about your question but light movers are great! They increase your yield a bit but they even out the growth. That way you don't have to turn your plants all the time and you don't get airy popcorn buds on the periphery of the garden. Hydrofarm makes a light mover that's only about $100. I have one and love it!:blsmoke:

oh the question is if i had 3 setups:

1.) 4 foot x 4 foot tent with a 600 watt bulb

or

2.) 4 foot x 6 foot tent with 600 watt bulb and a light mover

or

3.) 4 foot x 8 foot tent with 600 watt bulb and a light mover

which would produce the most yield?

Lollipopping DWC grow. 2 month flowering.

Hey Mate
your better off using 2 X 400hps with a 200cm light mover you will get much better coverage. people allways go wattage over number of lights. i have used 2 1000w hps in a nft setup and switched to 3 X 400w which got me a higher yeild and running less power.

"which would produce the most yield?: 3.) 4 foot x 8 foot tent with 600 watt bulb and a light mover."

I have a light rail, 600W HPS, 8' x 3' cage/tent, run about 5' travel with the light, raised the plants on the ends to get light up the sides, younger plants on the ends, most mature at the end of the run (just before the raised younger plants) where the light's travel pauses.

I went with 3' instead of 4' wide cage to keep the light intense on the edges - if you go 4' I'd suggest a light spreader. I found it simplest to remove my air ducting on my air cooled reflector and draw the air out of the ceiling, saved putting in a curtain rail to support the ducting and less strain on the motor.

The Light Rail is a great investment, I couldn't be happier with mine.

I started out with a 600w on a 4'x6' custom flood table i built. It worked great! But I added side lighting in the corners and each end because i didnt like how dark it got. So think about adding a little bit of floros or cfls to keep it nice and bright all the time. The added benifit of a light mover is you will get more buds all over because of the multiple points of light of the light moving.

But to be compltely honest after a couple grows I bumped up to a 1000w. Now it can cover 4'x8' but i still use a lil bit of side lighting.

sweet. thanks guys.

i want to go 1000 too but it's just too much juice right now. more than i want to be using.
