plants start drooping towards the end of the day

View attachment 1837255i just looked at the roots and they look great. white and hairy. do u think a fluctuation from 5.6 to 6.0 is bad? i adjust the ph daily to keep it within 5.6 to 6.0, but i dont think i would be able to keep it at exactly one exact number. do u think i should up the nutes to 50%? i just noticed that the new growth is drooping but the old not so much. do u think i should up the nutes from 1/4 strength to 1/2 strength?
give them nutes with water then check to ph 5.5 for hydro.

my plants were doing this, they had no fans at night, i then left a fan on all the time drawing air in and out with a thermostat at 19c at night, , also i leave a fan on 24hrs blowing across the top of the canopy.

seemed to correct it.

now the leaves point skywards, plants respire co2 during the day but respire air in the dark, its called photosynthesis. no air at night gives you these probs.

do you know what, if i was you i would calibrate my ph tester and go with bang on ph 5.8 one feed and 5.5 the next then 5.8 and so on.
you will catch all nutrients.

check the chart out.
hey thx for the chart! awesome

I had some young plants maybe 3-4 weeks old. Two days ago I gave them about 500 ppm or .65 EC of grow nutes at ph 5.8 in RO water. The next day they looked like yours and stayed that way all day even with no more water for the rest of the day. I read too many nutrients could cause salt buildup and drooping. The salts draw water back out of the roots was my understanding. I flushed with ph 5.8 RO water first thing this morning and like 3 hours later they looked better! Tonight they look fine again and I won't water until tomorrow. I grow in straight rockwool and have found I can't feed during veg more than once a day with top drip. I would flush with ph'ed water for a day and see what they do. I think 4 waterings a day in hydroton should be fine unless the rockwool is large and has a lot of root mass in it. Then definitely water less;)

ive got an indoor grow tent(5'x5'x7'). using 1000w hps 3.5 feet away. plants are 3 weeks old. an AC unit keeps the temp from 70-75F with rh between 40-50%. ph is 5.6-6.0. top feed drip w 40gal res watering 4 times a day for 30 min each watering. hydroton clay pellets. 18/6 lighting. using 1/4 strength AN nutes.

Ive noticed that my plants all start to droop as if they get tired at the end of the day. ive played w water schedule, temp, rh, nutes, ph, flushed, none of which affected the drooping. they usually start drooping at around 5pm and by 10pm , when lights go out, they dont look too good, sometimes the bottom leaves touch the ground. the plants seem to otherwise be doing good. theyre still growing fast but they just dont look happy and vibrant like they do in the morning. is it normal for plants to get "tired" as the day goes on? is there something i need to do to correct this or is it not really something that should concern me? i can post pics if anyone needs me to. thx in advance for any comments.
My plants do the same thing. I was worried too until I started reading these replies. Right now I have some Sweet Gods and a Critical Jack. The Sweet Gods start drooping withing 4 to 6 hours of lights out while in veg, except the Critical Jack. She looks great from lights on to lights out. 18 on and 6 off. I'm thinking maybe genetics since it is more sativa. Anyways, thanks for posting.

Light was too close 7 years ago lol 1000 watt should be 5 feet away if it’s a true 1000 watt

I have found some strains are a bit more picky on moist soil (or less root room) than others and the first sign is late day droop. I tend to water those strains with less water.

I know this is an old post, but I have two healthy plants that have that same thing happen each night about 10 minutes before the lights go off. The top leaves of the plant start to droop as if they are tired. At first this had me a bit worried, but I know I've got everything just about perfect and the plants are really healthy. When I check them in the morning they are fine. I realized this is a normal thing after a week or so. My plants are set on an electronic timer and it's like they know when it's about bedtime. They are on an 18/6 and the next day without changing anything they are booming again, leaves pointing up and out.

Don't worry it is an old post, I'm too reading from it in 2018.

Could this be caused by co2 depletion? I'm going through the same issue.
Did you just comment without actually bothering to read thread? Plants "sleep" at night and they will droop. If you lok at any cannabis time-lapse video that includes night you will clearly see the leaves start dropping before the lights go out and start coming back up before the lights come on.

just so you know, this thread is from 2011.
Old thread but seems like a lot of confusion....CIRCADIAN RHYTHM, is the main culprit....YES, plant relax AFTER lights go out, but for those doing it PRIOR to lights going out, is a result of Circadian rhythm....They ADAPT to their cycle....for example, those who had run a veg cycle of 20hrs for a partucular cutting for many months, will see those start wilting just before 20 hrs...I run veg 24 hrs a day and only see it when I induce flower...then they wilt about a half hr before lights out...I have acquired established cuttings which were run on LESS THAN my 24 hr veg, only to find those wilting earlier (previous growers veg cycle)....after many month, the STOP that early wilting under my 24 he veg.....THE ADAPT TO THEIR ENVIROMENT....At the moment, ALL 5 of my strains have been vegged on 24hrs, and only see the circadian rhythm effects when I induce flower....Mine ALL stop doing by 3 weeks of flower....most likely because they are saturated with flower hormones by then, and veg is no longer a priority for them.... HARMLESS, and one of mother natures amazing plant reactions....I have witnessed this ever since I started growing in the late 70ies...YT
