i got plants under a 400w HPS light, 6-18. they been growing for a about a month now. they look great in the morning but by about 10pm (nearing the end of their 18hours light) they go all limp and the leaves droop. they look like figure 5 (see link). but they don't get too much water. i wait until the top soil and about an inch down is dry before i water them.

any suggestions??

but why would they only droop at the end of the light cycle? if it was over watering wouldn't they droop all the time?

Beats the crap out of me why the droop comes and goes but if the soil is only dry 1 inch deep between watering, you are over watering. I bet the plants do okie-dokie once you let them dry between water.

its not over watering. the symptoms don't match. yes it droops but only at the end of the light cycle. if it were over watering it would droop all the time.

Maybe it's a hormonal thing. The plant doesn't release it's auxins until the dark photo period. So maybe the plant is getting "tired" as it runs low on the hormone's you've made it dependant on.

As long as it bounces back every morning, does it really matter?

Especially since the problem is over watering anyway. I'm just playing Devil's Advocate.

Yea the plant bounces back anyway but wont that stress give me a higher chance of male/hermaphrodites and less yield if it is a female?

why does everyone think its overwatering? I've never heard of overwater only causing drooping at the end of the light cycle. is there something im missing.

Whatever. Try more water. Fill a bucket and stick your head in it. As soon as your head is dry 1 inch from the top, have it filled back up. Take some advice.

dude my plant hasn't been watered in at least 3 days. I'm not the original person who started the thread. I dont water till both of my meters tell me to. its not over watered. I'll take advice when it fits my problem. Do i have to keep asking why over watering would only cause it to droop at the end of the light cycle if it were the problem??

Maybe you should start a thread with your question instead of hijacking someone else's. There is some advice that fits your problem.

HiJacking? Dude i asked the guy who had the same problem then fixed it how he did it, so i wouldn't have to start a new thread and have people like you suggest things that don't fit the bill. the thread was already over anyway and my problem is exactly like his was so its still THE SAME QUESTION that he had. so fuck off
