Plants defoliating themselves near harvest **HELP!!!**

So i'm getting close to harvest and I noticed some of the lower leaves are fading out and even falling off...I've read that defoliation is bad and should be avoided. Can I just tape them back on or something? Where would the plant have pulled that stored energy from if I had already cut leaves off prior to the natural fading?!

He is making fun of the people that defoliate plants to allow for better light penetration and air circulation. If you give plants the proper nutrients through the flowering period and 2 weeks before estimated harvest time start flushing with plain water the plant should't loose any foliage and only a small amount of leaves will barely even change color before harvest.
I can defoliate lightly around 3 weeks into flower and keep in mind before I cut leaves I will try to tuck them under a branch first. I leave plenty of leaves to store energy and sugars for the plant to consume just before harvest.

Keep in mind I only use this method in small spaces when the SCROG or SOG method in being used. If you have plenty of space then defoliating is not required in you're case, the main reason for defoliating is to expose bud sites and increase air flow and that's it.
