Thx, ppm in my local tap is often at 600 & sometimes as high as 820. I'm on a desert valley floor & the water table sometimes is at 40 ft. I don't run seeds at my facility for that reason plus I don't currently have the space to find a winner out of 60 seeds. I do it off site. Seeding & pollens are off site

I feed for Abt 50 days, strain depending. Then flush for 11 to 14 days. It gets all the taste of the nutes out of the flower. They bulk up nicely during that time. No hardeners/ripeners nothing, just cleanse for a couple days. My people want the taste of the flower not the nutes
What exactly do nutes taste like?

That's why I said if you had to run RO add Chlorine back into your system. I'm shocked you have so many rot issues where you're at. I assume you mean CA low desert. I grow in the high desert and have zero issues even with my constantly wet coco.

Wow and you starve your plants at the end too. I leach my medium every 2 weeks with one large volume watering of low PPM (tap water only at 250 PPM mostly Ca/Mg). I feed mine until the end too.

Some taste really nasty. Put a few granules of epsom salts/magnesium sulfate on your tongue. That's a common ingredient in most nutrients yet even though it's in the nutrients I feed until the end I never get that taste when I smoke my weed. I've just decided to skip over the nutrients in your buds/flushing posts. Some have decided that they'd rather believe some youtube hack over actual science.

I've never tasted nutes before. What exactly do they taste like?

I've never known of any plants that aren't actively growing at 50/60 days it's your grow but that's not the way forward i can assure you of that.

1.5 probably too high, and what's your watering technique? Are you flushing out old nutrients? They r thirsty and would appreciate a nice heavy plain water feed to drink some. Plain water, flush some of that old shit away
I don't grow in coco cause I don't want to manually water that frequently. Instead of flushing, I reduce PPM (or EC). It became clear to me that when the plants were flushed with plain water, they seemed to grow slower.

Don't have time to read the whole thread.

Unflushed weed is harsh & makes ya cough unnecessarily! When I roll a couple big fat doobs & put em on the counter at the grow store,I hear the same thing Every time. Wow. That's Really clean tasting! But 5 a light Best weed ever growers know better ! Hell, they been doing it in mom's garage for 20 plus years . Better listen to them !

It seems to me like the term “flushing” is somewhat vague and often when people use that term they are referring to a water only period at the end of the grow, not necessarily running huge amounts of water through the medium. I believe it’s possible to feed super heavy salts for the first 40 days of flower, then taper them down to just water for the last 1-2 weeks and get great tasting weed. This has been a tried and true method of growing great weed (in any medium) for a long time from what I understand. Go back and look at some of the OG discussions from the 2010 era on this site and others, tried and true methods of growing dank with a long water only period at the end. recipes like REZdog on ICmag or the SFV OG kush recipe on thc farmer. Are people actually feeding full or even half strength nutes at the end of flower? Yuck. I’ve accidentally done that too many times and I prefer to taper the nutes to mostly water only at the end.

lol, who needs science when you can just get a nod of approval from your local grow store cashier instead...

I've learned that my grow store sucks because the guy just rings up my shit and sends me on my way. Must be nice to have a shop where a dude will roll two fat J's and say, "This one was grown in flushed coco, and this one was grown with nutes glistening off of the buds. Which one tastes better? You tasting those microbes, too, boyo?"
