I just don't trust automation that much unless it's hydro or perhaps coco. I want make sure the plants are ready for watering and they change how often they need water as they go thru life.

Unfortunately, more than I prefer lol. Going roller skating tonight. Great haha.
When I was a bit younger girls were not allowed to wear pants at school. Dresses only and they would make the girls kneel on the bleachers to make sure the dress touched the bleacher seat.

The roller skating rink! No such stupidity. We used to go a lot. They used to be a thing.

I grow in peat and don’t see a practical automated watering system. Too many variables with the weather. Even indoors.

What do you think of hempy buckets? It's not automated, but I can stretch 2 days without watering. Or there's the Kratky method lol. Takes your peat out of the equation though.

Haven't used them before, but in theory Blumats would be a practical choice wouldn't they? Set the desired moisture level, and forget about it.

I have heard horror stories of plugged or run away carrots. lol
Lol fair enough.

I've thought about using them with coir for a while, but now you say that i might do some more digging, and possibly reconsider.

Cheers.

*Great journal btw!
