Plant Turning Hermie

Just about to hit day 18 of 12/12 with the Kalashnikova. A few days ago I found a few small balls on sticks so I decided to pick them off and see how the plant goes. But recently i've found a few more balls and also this thing. WTH is it? Male part opened up? If so then i'm going to dump this plant and start on a new op.
Altho i'm a n00b and this is my first time growing I havn't realy been too happy how the flower stage is going. I switched to 12/12 when it was 12" tall and she hasn't realy stretched at all. It's only just about 24" now. It's day 18 and I think the bud formation is slow too. I think this is a bit of a retard plant. I do put most of the blame on me and that this a learning cerve but I wish I did my research and didn't choose GHS Kalashnikova. Doubts i'll go bk with GHS again unless it's SLH....
I might just chop this plant up and turn it into canna-butter. Think it'll do anything? Doubts it but mite giv it a go anyways...

Yea thats some bananas. The bad thing is the pollen is early enough to create mature seeds in you plant. Which will be no good to you since they'll most likely hermi as well. You might as well just start a new one. I wouldn't make canna butter with the plant but maybe you can make a tiny amount of iso hash or something. I did this with 2 males that I had and got about a bowl and a half of some ok hash. The he she has small amounts of thc in her but not enough for any good butter. Here's a graph I've use to determine the best time to cut and iso a plant I don't plan on flowering.Good luck on your next grow.

Sorry to hear about your current crop (hermie). It may very well be weak genetics at fault, but also make sure that your flowering area has absolutely no light leaks and keep stress to the plants at a minimum. Make sure your plants are cool, dry and undisturbed during their dark period.

In addition, the degree to which plants will stretch during flowering varies between strains and may be affected by environmental conditions as well. I've heard people on this site claim that their plants quadrupled in size the first three weeks of 12/12, but I've never experienced this kind of extensive stretching myself. I suspect these claims are made by growers with insufficient lighting or excessive heat. I've never personally had a plant more than double its height.

Thanks for the replys people.

Yeah I don't think I want to keep this plant if it's herming allready. If I keep it it'll probs just be shit smoke when I chop her. But yeah I do agree it could be the genetics since GHS just pumped out Kalashnikova this year, but how could u get AK47 x White Widow messed up? lol, like I said it's probs my own fault.

Thanks for that graph Bostoner, intresting stuff.
Thc&me I did a lil test of sitting in my tent when lights went off to just before flipping to 12/12 and there is no light leaks. Who knows. Thanks for your input.

I'll have a read about the forums on how to make hash.

With only 18 days of 12/12 I doubt there wold be any sense in trying to make hash or anything else...no trichs right? I'd say your choices are to finish flowering or start over..18 days into flowering isn't too much of a loss..kinda like having males. I did hear that Kalashnikova was pretty decent smoke when finished.. good luck natty

Depending on how many male flowers have shown up, sometimes a little hermie factor may not really be a problem. If just a few bananas show up that can be easily removed, the plant can be salvaged if there is decent female flower cluster development. Most strains are pokey and slow to develop into full flowering the first couple weeks anyway. So it's not unusual for the slow flower development you describe at just 18 days into 12/12. As long as only a few bananas appear that can be plucked off so that only one or two may escape discovery, it may turn out better than you'd expect in the long run. As the few seeds that would come out of it would display varying degrees of hermie tendencies in the resulting plants. But the added plus is they'd all be females. Ideally I liked having a few male flowers develop mid way thru flowering on my awesome bag seed 45 day, "Atomic Chronic" (we called it)pheno. Was able to sell a few feminized seeds that everybody wanted. And nobody complained of hermie plants down the road.

Ok so what do you guys think of this, Banana ? I have never grown a male, or gotten a hermie before, so this would be pretty new for me.

I was chekin over the girls earlier tonight, and seen these bright things poking out of the middle of the buds. so I closer inspected it, clipped a couple off, and im sure this is pollen.

They only have about a week left, should I let them go? or cut em down? This is a purple strain (not sure what one or from what breeder, could be BC tho).Im gonna blame it on stress maybe....

Wow man. Looks like pollen to me. I would just let them go at this point. You might as well let them pack on as much weight as they can. I would try to clip any nanners you can find though.

I would also let them just finish up. My friend had a couple plants hermie on him and I was surprised at how dank the bud turned out to be.

kinda shitty, if they had more time id maybe try pollinating a small bud on a different plant. I am interested in doing a few tests with hermies, but the seeds wouldnt have enough time to mature i dont believe.
