Mars or Vipar if you want it easy and cheaper. QB if you have more money and space...
If you are suggesting Mars or Vipar the OP must consider a standard HPS because your suggestions are still cheap and far inferior to HPS for the same price.

It's either HPS or a fortune on proper LEDs.

HPS gets super top weed all the time for pennies if you can't afford flashy LEDs.

Only downside to HPS as opposed to LEDs is that it costs more to run am I correct?

We are not talking about HPS...
You suggested cheap Mars and Vipar and I say if you consider this shit you must consider HPS for the same price even cheaper and far better bud.

We are now talking additional/alternative light sources therefore HPS too.

You don't have to reply if you don't want to consider others facts and findings.

Your shout pal.

Not at all.

Run the same wattage. 600 watts of HPS is exactly the same as 600 watts of LED in cost.

It's 600 watts in total simple and same consumption cost wise.
No it is not! 600W LED has +- 270W power draw so it is more than half less!!!

I’m assuming he meant to say an LED with an actual wattage of 600w is exactly the same cost as 600w HPS. Most actual 600 wattage LED lights are advertised as 3000w.
There is a difference between actual wattage and actual draw. There is even bigger difference between cheapos “1800W” which are trully 300W with 140W draw...

But I do not deny what he said, I agree that HPS are great for budding phase. But not always you can replace 300W Led for 250w HPS, specificaly in small closets you will have problems with temps. When you have grow room as hell HPS is best choice ofc...

I've been researching the same and I settled on MH/HPS got a good deal on a ballast. Im still doing a small closet practice run with a cheap LED and it grew... but extremely slow like yours, I added a CFL rig and she exploded, doubled in 2 weeks. it's amazing how the light blends, but you turn of either and it shows.
Gonna use the HID and cop the power bill until I can get a good LED, can grow in summer then aswell

Everyone is right that your lights aren't great ... but those are still pretty small for 11 days even with crappy lights. The heat definitely may have been a factor.

Can you post a pic under natural light? Also, what's your medium? And is this an auto or a photo?

I see so do you recommend me to switch the lights to cfl instead? Or just let the LEDs run for now?

I am growing in coco perlite 70/30 and yes you’re right even with low quality lights it’s still small for 11 days. It was growing all fine until the temp in my grow tent started hitting 97 degrees +
Since that, the growth seems to have stalled a little.
I have lowered the lights a little more even though there’s no signs of stretching.

If this is your first grow then I’d be willing to bet you are watering too much. Coco needs to be kept more damp than soil but watering seedlings properly can be tricky, especially when you start them in a pot that big. If you haven’t already then I would suggest reading up on hot to grow properly in coco. I don’t grow in coco but those who do recommend www.cocoforcannabis.com a lot as a great resource.
