hey guys this is my last failed hydro grow that died for no apparent reson that i know of,
moved on since then got new grow going but still cant find a reason anywhere why it died,
ph was about 5.8 in recirculating system with clayballs, had only just switch to 12/12 and a weeklater things were looking bad
too late to save because its gone but want to know what you guys think may have been the problem so it doesnt happen again,

im thinking it could have been my near new cf meter nutrawand as it gave me some realrandom readings,

thanks for your time :)

What's a cf meter I be thinking you went to flowering
did you change over to flowering nutes and maybe mixed
tbps for tsps it happens you gotta some type of major lockout
or you merely burnt the shit out of them~

Agree the look fried, could be ph, are your meters calibrated properly?

Do you have any more details? What the hell is a CF meter?

What line of nutrients were you using?
Watering Schedule (xMin x/Day or drip?)?
What strength were you feeding?
Did your reservoir have any smells?
When you ripped 'em out did the roots look ok?

hey thanks for your replys!
i was using flairform greendream, cf meter is ppm or ec meter same thing, was about 1100 ppm my meter was showing but may of been way off as its a cheap piece of crap no one should buy, the green and black nutrawand,

watering was 4 times a day for 15 min, res smelled a bit like dirt but was regulary cleaned, roots were a bit brown compared to the bubblers i have now,

had a spreader on the 600w hps, at first i thought it was heat, but after i moved the light away i realised the problem was thru the whole plant not just the top,
it was huge about 5 ft tall and 5ft wide so would of been pretty good,

it was my first grow doing hydros/ indoors but this site is awsome so much useful info that would take a lifetime to read,
ive searched for days but couldnt find anything the same as what happened here just thought someone could have an answer so it wont happen again

I think your meter was fucked up. Either ph, ppm, or both. I'm guessing that you are right about it being the ppm meter. When ph gets fucked up it locks things out and the plants start doing odd things. This looks like it's flat out fried. I hope you've purchased a new meter? It's expensive having to start fall over compared to the good quality meters.

I know how it is with the cost to get this going, but no one component is worth cheaping out on, the downside is that everything is worthless. Cheap lights, cheap fans, cheap meters, cheap timers, cheap pumps....At some point expensive mistake. Losing out on a potential LB of ganja is a stinger...

sure thing laserbrn, pay for shit and get shit, note for everyone, get decent quality ppm,ec cf meter because from the look of my pics it doesnt pay haha
my m8 got a truncheon think from blue labs or something had for 6 years and not a problem, a month old and i knew my nutrawand was a piece of crap, still got few months left of warranty for it but thats near impossible to claim, was $100nz should of spent another 50 and i would of had something more decent than a nutrawand nutrient stirrer because its worthless for anything else, one second ppm is 1100 , the next its 400, then next its 2000 wtf haha

i estimated i would have got at least a pound from that plant so could have brought a few meters and all that wasted power

ok not the light, you say the res stinks and your not using peroxide so it must be diseased root system/plant and thats the way it looks. Get some high str H202.

Looks like you had a lockout, you continued to add nutes to your res un knowing of what was to come, your res rebalanced itself and become available to obsorb all them stored nutes. Fried the leaves...

That's the lesson.. Yeah, if you were using a meter that's jumping around it's no good. PPM doesn't fluctuate like that lol. Get a decent tri-meter that tells the temp/ph/ppm. Calibrate it often and get back at it. Good luck.
