Right, First time grower here....i have some White label Supa skunk-

This has a short flowering time 46~50 Days....Now i have loads of buds/pistils the works.......

I am on day 36 and i dont have not one single brown/red pistil....how quickly do they turn...over what sort of time frame bearing in mind its a short flowering period....

Any one know is it 2~3 days or 2~3 weeks......

Well the next couple of weeks will be nerve wracking for you waiting for the first plant to finish. First of all you need just to pull up a chair or stool have a pipe handy, watch and wait. You say the breeder tells you it will finish in 46-50 days but don't believe it and don't cut her until she is ready. I suggest that you buy an inexpensive microscope, Radio Shack has them for about $12, and check the trichs every few days. This is the easiest and most relieble way to harvest at the proper time for your tastes.
Good Luck and Happy Growing

Cheers Canefan, I have a 30x scope already.....the plant has the snowy haze on the leaves and the bottom fan leaves have yellowed so its warming up....and yes the smell, look of the plant has me itching to have a go(WHEN its ready) wanna see how i done!

You'll see most of the white hairs turn within a few days +/- of breeders rec....but typically, most strains will still have white hairs or even new ones show up at the last....Hair turning is only one of the indicatiors I use to determine harvest time....tric color (milky for me), swollen calynx and receding hairs are good indicators too...

Old reefer-Would you say the Trichs and Pistils are two of the main indicators....its my first so wanna keep it simple....but do thebest i can.....

The stigma color change and recession into the calyx is the clue to start watching the resin glands. The color of the resin gland is the true test of ripeness. Many environmental factors can turn the stigmas brown before the trichomes are ripe so the trichome color is the true test for ripeness.
