Pistils while in vegetation?

Hi hi. I've recently noticed a few little white-looking hairs at the armpit joints of my weed plant.

What the hell is going on? I planted these puppies from seed mid February. I am growing in organic soil.

I wasn't planning on flowering her this early.

Or maybe I'm just stoned. Please help.
Shes just showing sex and that she is ready to go into flower whenever you are ready. No worries, its 100% normal.

Thank goodness! I appreciate you jumping in quick.

Is there a rule of thumb how long to veg them for? What does quality go down if you go too long?

You can veg them for as long or short (as long as they are mature) as you like before flipping to 12/12 light schedule for flower. The best rule of thumb is just to plan for your own grow space. Depending on the strain the plants can double or triple in height during the early flower stretch. You just want to make sure you have enough space above the plants for appropriate distance between the canopy and your lights.

They will nearly double in size when you switch to 12-12, so the the rule I follow is when they are utilizing half the height I have available I switch them. That’s just me personally.

Quality doesn’t go down if you veg them longer. They veg for months ,naturally, when they grow outdoors under natural daylight. It you are limited in vertical space, and you don’t top and/or LST, then you’ll need to do a short veg cycle. I top and LST so I try to keep mine in veg for 6-8 weeks so I can fill the tent from wall to wall with a low canopy.

Veg them for as long as your space allows, or as long as you care to wait before flower with no worries of quality decreasing. I've had the same mommas in veg for years lol. When they get too big, I whack em down to size or take clones and start a new momma.

Yay! I am a happy camper. How do you guys recommend I determine the max I can veg her for?

When I flower, I plan on only flowering one plant at a time.

I popped her seed mid February.
Organic soil
She definitely has sativa .
I have topped a few times.
I will be flowering in this big burlap sack. I think it's like at least 20 gallon I think
grow space 2.5*2.5*7 white shower

I will be using a Mars hydro 600 w LED full spectrum. I also just bought a LED uv flood light
Have tomato cages but will be doing scrog in addition

I don't know what other information would need to be known.

IMO ... again opinion.....

I usually consider “ flowering “ after the stretch, because the final structure has been set
and flowers are now the priority. The stretch phase can be 10-14 days , plant doubles in size and slows.
Buds are more prominent and are beginning to bloom.

Correct me if I'm wrong

From the moment you switch the plant to a 12/12 light cycle You consider that to be
Entering the stretch phase which is 10 to 14 days.

Any tips on fertilization or defoliating during this phase? What should I be doing during this time.

I do minor removal , defol / larf picking / sucker growth around that final stretch.... Last clean up I guess.
Then just LST the branches to “ shape “ it. Then let it do it’s thing.
