Pistils... when do they show? ; 24 hours darkness

Ok, so I was wondering how long it would take for the sex to show and got the answers between 1-2 weeks and then later noticed a post where some guy flips to 0/24 for a day meaning 24 hours off and then the next day he saw pistils; whether this is true or not I have no idea but what I do know is that during the day the plant absorbs light to give it energy for growth in the darkness period.

Any suggestions will be appreciated

Some strains show sex without even changing the light schedual. I would not recommend complete darkness. Just hope for preflowers. Or take a clone and test that, instead of the whole plant.

During the dark period the plants grow then but in the light period they just absorb all the light so I might try 0/24 for a day but I'll have to do some more research just to be sure... early flowering in 4 days ... I suspect at least to be one female but it's not up to me

This is totally wrong. You're going to start a side argument in your own thread about something totally irrelevant.

Of course plants also grow during the day, otherwise people vegging with 24/0 period would not see any growth, ever.

The only thing correct about this is that plants grow at night. I'll add that they also don't absorb light at night! Yep. Nope.

Just be patient and if you don't have any growing may not be for you. Your questions is like asking how long is a piece of string.

Every strain every grow environment is different so no one can give you a exact time on maturity.

Just keep a eye out for ball sacks or pistols and you will be good.

If your plant has been vegged at all it shouldn't really take longer than 1 week to show sex. I believe the type of strain the poster above is talking about, are called auto flower. Typically a photoperiod will show sex without flip if left to veg for long enough to get sexually mature. Either a vegged plant will show sex a lot quicker than a 12/12 from seed. GL.

Just be patient and watch it grow. Read a little while she does her thing.

Might as well just wait for a week or two and not rush the plant.... btw its photoperiod pure afghan by dna genetics
