Pineapple Express...

I've had (supposedly) a very sweet and pretty looking weed from a clinic named Pineapple Express that tasted like pineapples before. It was delicious and extremely fucking stoney. Sativa dom for sure. Do I think it's real? No, anyone can name a plant and flavor it. It was extremely good and I would of said it was a perfect example of what it should be, smelled gorgeous, like a tingling skunky sweet fruity smell.


But I've had tons of OG's and even one Purple that blew that PE shit out of the water.

Pineapple Express is indeed a real strain.

You start with Pineapple/Pineapple Kush, cross it with Alaskan Ice, and the product was Pineapple Ice. Then these genetics were crossed with Early Girl Genetics to make the plant mature faster, hence the "Express" in Pineapple Express.

I had some of the parent strain, the Pineapple Ice, but it was a very high maintenance strain so I gave up on it.

Pineapple Express is more than likely obtainable by clone only, although some are probably selling seeds of diluted genes and saying it's express...

dude ur trippin.IN THE MOVIE he talks about what strains it is but doesn't explain it all,ITS A MOVIE. anyone can raise a plant an call it what you want so in that sense maybe there is something like what this movie potrays.

Seth Rogan even said they made it up. Its free advertising. I had some stuff called pineapple kush, and after the movie came out he calls it pineapple express.

Dudes i have 3 pineapple express right now 38 days into flower almost done gonna let em go to 50 days 2 pheno's out of 3 plants very dark smaller leaves bright red stems to fans, 2 look like a kush pheno other like flytrap large triple amount of bud sites, the smaller ones (kush Phenos) definetly are twice as crystaled have very distinctive scent of rawnchy cheesey fruit, larger fly trap pheno as i call it is very very fruity desctincivly different from each other. I have pics to show need to know how to upload can't figure out pretty stoned right now! Let me know ill post immediately by the way my boy wanted this strain didn't really care for it at the beginning but can definetly tell this baby is a keeper. and so fast 45 days !

45 days? Thats pretty short, i cant even get my whiteberry and afghan kush to finish that fast. Are you sure that right?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, because I didn't feel like going through the whole thread, but Pineapple Express originally was NOT a real strain.

In an interview with Seth Rogen about the name Pineapple Express, he said that he originally heard the term when he was a teenager, and it was some sort of weather flow that brought winds to or from Hawaii or something. Anyway, he said that as soon as he heard them use the term on the weather channel, he thought it would be an amazing name for a strain of weed.

Several years later, he is a movie star and comes out with the movie.

Maybe it's a strain named by a breeder in light of the movie or created as a direct result of the movie?

The wayback machine (web.archive.org) on various seed marketers didn't turn up anything about pineapple express before late 2008, however pineapple punch shows up on maryjanes garden in late 2005.

So youve been breeding this since before the movie came out?

Ok so theres a movie about it does that mean the strain should just be disreguarded?
They bred a strain following the movie but it still exists even if you don't want it to.
I'm gonna get some fem'd beans of it reguardless of your opinion.
