First off I wanted to ask is there a difference between the two?

Second question what does this due to the plant?

I heard to cut the top of the new leaves growing in with sissors so i did. now it has been two days. When i cut her after lik a coupole hours there was black like resine almost looking in the stem wear i cut but clearly wasent. Is that good / normall?

Please tell me if you think i did it right and what is suppose to be happening on day three after topping. here a pic im not sure if it will help. btw she was planted on july 30 and only about 18 inches tall.

Also if anyone knows whats going on with the denting in the leaves and curling.

HERE ARE SOME PICS OF MY PLANT. PS-NOT SURE IF ITS FEMALE OR MALE ITS BEEN MONTHS NOW

PLEASE HELP ME OUT THANKS

Any help guys?
You want to do it a little earlier, 18" is a little too tall. I did my last FIM @ about 6 inches. Second your plant looks like it's in need of more light. The internode spacing is too high and the plant just looks empty.

Examples:

Toping - cutting the top of the plant off, usually above the 4th node. You will get 2 growth tips.

FIM - fuck I missed, varied form of topping where you cut the growth tips causing 4 new growth tips.

Pinching is something done to the tips of buds (flowering...), supposedly causing the buds to swell more as they repair this minor damage.
