That light reminds me of my diy cfl build. Why so close? Height restricted?
I had a similar cfl rig, lol. Yeah, I do have a restriction, which is why I scrog. This is how close I ran cfl, was going to move up more if I needed to, but 3 weeks I've been running it this height with no problem.

Testing out a few new lights quantum boards with 600w meanwell drivers , sunboards wavy boards and fusion boards each fixture uses 2 320w meanwells. I'm also trying out a 600w ceramic hps from hortilux not shown in this pic. I've gotten a lot of good info on here thanks to everyone who posted info on builds and led grows.20180614_220105.jpg

Not entirely finished, but perhaps other people are in the same predicament to fill a space with led strips where they don't exactly fit.

I was trying to fill a 100x100cm (40"x40") space with 56cm (22") led strips. I ended up with this "windmill" configuration:

There is room for 12 led strips in clusters of 3.

I ran a simulation and at 15cm (6") above the canopy the uniformity would be decent already:

The blue parts show where light intensity is below 80% of the average. In the corners this can't really be helped.

I'm switching to a 100x200 space and will use three 60x100cm (24"x40") fixtures instead. Each with 8 led strips.

Where are these simulators? Id like to run my setup simulated and see the results.

@Shadrock15 Cree's are fine these days since their price has dropped a lot where the other bards have kept their price. CXB3590 is readily available in DB bin now too. Otherwise get for instance Citizen COBs to save a little.

COBs are better than quantum boards. COBs are cheaper at the same efficiency and allow you to spread the light better so you can lower the fixture more saving on loss of light on the walls. Less money and more light on the plants for the same power. Just run the COBs a bit softer than people normally do (ie add some more for the same wattage). That's what gets you that tiny bit of extra efficiency.

Why not go with the led strips you mentioned before? They are "better" yet.

I am hesitant because im confused lookinh at the qb - i have a hard time believing the cover a 3x3 in flower- so i was told i would need 8+ of the strips (by several people) and that made me wonder even more since the strips are longer @2 ft esch why would I need so many diodes and I found yesterday 4x cob kit cree cxb 3590 (it says cd- db bin for 134 bucks with driver and all - so now im realy stuck -
Cost of qb- and i cannonlybget 300k - 332
Cost of strip build with shipping and all - 260
Cost of cree kit 4cobs driver accesories- 134
Im leary of the cheap price on cob but hey - 134 bucks ?? What would you say would be best option for 7 sq ft area
